Ah come on, I don't see how any characters were even ruined in the last two....you can't say Wheelie because he named himself that and was thus not the same Wheelie....plus supposedly everyone hates Wheelie anyways....

I am going to look forward to 3, ShockWave's one of my favorite characters(oddly, after hearing him say just one line in Animated) and since I like the Movie Aesthetic the best it will be cool to see him.
Plus you know, toys.

Now I wonder...will he still be purple?

I KNEW IT! I knew Bay would cave to the exects about 3D. Now I at least can go into the film with the same mindset of going into King Kong the 3D Ride, pointless entertainent thrill ride. Only shame, I'll miss out on 3D Megan Fox, damn.

Which sums up alot of thoughts to which I share with Fan expectations and not getting too excited after the poor performances of Shockwave and ilk in ROTF. I will say, that if shockwave plays a very important part, I would bet Bay plans on killing off Megatron. I mean, deisgn wise they are the same bot just as Optimus and Ultra Magnus are. And Bay, well being Bay might see this to dump and old plot toy and replace it with something shiny and new. Pun totally intended.

Either that, or Shockwave turns out to be just another suit combiner product plug just as Jetfire was. Cause thats what makes a film...Gimmicks. I'll be on board for the 3D Gimmick, just because they're alot of fun, and with the same high expectations I had for Prince of Persia....

According to CB, it will be post-converted 3D. I don't like this. If the ticket prices are too high, i'll just opt for normal Imax or a regular smaller screen. F Paramount. Shoot it all in 3D and then i'll fork out the dough for Imax 3D.

Well, ROTF Wheelie wasn't really leaps and bounds better than G1 Wheelie. Sure, he didn't rhyme annoyingly all the time, but you know, it's not like he did much better.

As for Shockwave, I think that could be cool, and he'd be an excuse (IF they wanted to stick G1ish with him) to use that lens head that they used for the drone figures of movie #1 that everyone complained about, and then all the Bayverse fans will have something new to complain about when it comes to movie disenters. Can't you just future-read it now? "Shockwave has one eye just like he used to! AHHH!!! But those lenshead drones from the first movie toy line were still terrible!!!"

As for Sixshot, I don't know how they could work him into the movies based solely on his having six transformations. Somehow I just can't imagine that working out in a film that's supposed to take a wildly ludicrious situation (Alien robots) and make it realistic. I fully understand the way that that statement sounds, but I just can't see it being considered as a plausible idea. Plus, it would probably end up being the live-action equivalent of G1 Sixshot's appearance in The Rebirth: "Transform once into all of your various modes and then remove yourself from the screen."

Anybody expect that the character will even vaguely resemble the G1/energon or at least the movie 1 character? I for one doubt it, I expect it to be the battleship transformer that Bay wanted to make since movie 1.

Wow, I did not see them taking that route! I'm glad to hear Bay's definetely not going to try to take on Unicron or anything, I don't think he would have handled it well...

All they need to do now is find a way to kill off Amos and Andy...er, I mean Mudflap and Skids and I'll be ready to shell out my dinero to see this!

Personally, ROTF Wheelie was equally bad as G1 Wheelie. But that's just me. It would be amazingly hard to ruin something as lame as the orange original, so no, ROTF Wheelie was not a step down, just an equally bad one.

Oh yeah, Six Shot would be fantastically cool, and he always has been. All I meant was that I'm not certain how believable a robot like that would really be in a live action movie that's supposed to be really believable.
Also, the lack of mass-shifting like in the cartoons, all of Six Shot's modes aren't the same size or mass, so he would either need to have different transformations or would have to drop modes, so all I meant was that he might stretch the realism of the film a bit. And honestly, I think his original self is so cool looking that if they movie-ized him it's just turn out lame.

I really liked Devastator's appearance, much more destructive looking than the original, I also preferred the movie one Megatron, he just looked better to me...and at least he had the Flail. BumbleBee, well...G1 BB kinda looked lame, I prefer this one.....Prime's flames look cool too....but he still has the Prime look which is good.

ShockWave is one that I want to stay close to his G1 look(along with SixShot...but he's not in any movies so...) because it's like Optimus, it just doesn't seem like him if there isn't at LEAST the one eye.

Welcome! I'll say this, no matter what Shockwave end's up looking like, if he is the one to kill the twins, I'll be happy. Muahahaha!

Really though, I liked a majority of the revamps in the first film. The flamed up optimus, Camero Bee, and I will say I liked Megatron more in the first film then the second because both his arms rused together to form the fusion cannon, which was pretty frakken awesome. If they kept the Tank canon visible in the second model from TF2, ala the Leader class toy, I might have not minded the T-Rex arm. But they switched it to the Davey Jones crab claw so...meh.

Devastator was just a wreck, hands down. All he did was suck air....ugh. And he really wasn't Devi was he, just a cloned alteration of the Constructicons. Booooooooo.....
Aw well, maybe they'll do something watchable for Shockwave, I just hope they don't give him Soundwaves beetle mouth.

In part two he wouldn't have been half as bad if he didn't look like a blob....plus his jet mode was more unique to me....

On Devastator, you're right, he is....different....from his old incarnation, but I think the worst part is that they didn't use him well. Why not have him eat Optimus and the soldiers? Instant victory.

YES! Someone else that does, even though it didn't resemble his G1 self, I prefer it. And their take on combiners is interesting, more of a beast than a humanoid....though if they add any Autobot combiners I think they should be humanoid to separate them.

I liked movie Devastator a whole lot. If they do have Superion I think they should keep Superion all feral looking and stuff too.
The only movie designs I ever didn't like were Megatron, Starscream and the Fallen. The Fallen and Megatron mainly because they don't look like anything, or at least not anything good. Starscream is my favorite character, so sue me, plus, I think the diamond shape is just dumb. Not like I'm hateful towards geometry, I just dont find it a pleasing robot body shape. But he's better looking than those Arcee "things". I'm just hoping they don't "Fallen"-stlye Shockwave, making him cruddy looking. He doesn't have to look G1, just look good.
And you know he won't be purple. Ir realism is the name of the disign game for the robots, and by extension their alt modes, how are we going to have a giant, flying purple gun?

As far as G1, I wasn't expecting anything too faithful villan wise since the first movie. Even so, the robot designs for me were cleaner and less messy in the first film, verses ROTF it looks as if they just slapped on kibble everywhere just for kicks. Like I said before, you can re-interpret something, but if you just make something totally different and slap on the name tag.....just doesn't jive. Your better off just calling it something different. If Devastator was called something different, I would have not minded so much being though I'm a lightweight TF fan, even I know the character that is devastator and what he looks like.

Even so, when I saw the concept art with Movie Devi in these dynamic poses, I thought, kay, this could work. But alas, all he does is crawl around and suck up dirt. Over all with the character it was just bad execution. Shame too, honestly I hope they ditch the concept of combiner's in this third film, and just focus on clean designs and robots with character verses just random bots placed there for product placment on Hasbro's 2011 toy line.

And one final thing, enough with the transformers that don't transform! Shockwave better transform, into something! Thats prob another big pet peve, Fallen, Soldier Bots (Cannon fodder), Ravage, Insecticon, Scorpinock, no transforming. In which case, can they be called transformers? I mean the Toy Rc Car and the microscope transformed for the love of might!
