I'm not forgetting about it. I'm just not counting it. Yet. A few news article tidbits and a couple of prototype pics does not a figure make. Sure, it means that plans have been made and maybe that wheels are in motion. But stuff happens. Plans could get scrapped. Delays could take place. I don't like to count a figure, especially a Masterpiece, until it actually materializes.
And honestly, you aren't really wrong in anything you said at all. The MP and MP-M lines are very different. There has been quite a bit of activity in the MP line in the last calendar year. Perhaps not the activity that I have been wanting but I suppose if there was a repaint that I just had to have (as I said I don't like repaints that don't produce different characters but for the sake of argument), I would be pretty excited if the Has/Tak gave it to me. And yes, the MP line is pretty much on a decent pace bewteen original mold Grimlock and original mode Rodimus. (Speaking of, I forgot to throw in the repaint of MP Grimlock in my previous post as well. The bluer one that costs a billion dollars) However, I just don't see the point in taking this issue so personally that it warranted the kind of reaction that you gave it. I don't really know any of the people who have previously posted but do you? Perhaps they aren't regulars to the forum. Perhaps they are just getting back into collecting or getting into it for the first time and are as educated about the different lines. What difference does it make?
And honestly why should you even care if one guy doesn't know the difference between what toy line is what and what figures come from what lines? Whats more important: I know that Drift came from the Generations line or that Drift sits on my shelf? Lines of toys often get blurred amoung collections anyway. Generations/Universe get displayed with G1 all the time. Human Alliance get displayed with regular Movie lines and so on. Who cares about any of it? The bottom line is this figure is good, this figure is garbage.
I like to live by the saying: you pick the battles worth fighting. I think you just picked the wrong battle here. You gained nothing by correcting the person and may have lost people's respect in correcting him in the manner that you did. Anyway, I've wasted enough internet space on this issue. We should perhaps all move on.
This Bumblebee looks like THE Movie BB to have....until the next movie comes out and the next IT BB comes out.
Well said. Bravo.
