Classics two pack Optimus and Megatron-spinning punch?

Postby blueprimal » Wed May 09, 2007 3:08 pm

Hi guys I just got the Classics two pack Optimus and Megatron. I was wondering on the box it says Optimus has a punching action. On mine I dont know if its suppose to be like this but when I push on the knob on the back the upper torso just spins round and round. Is it suppose to do this or Punch then pull back?
The mechanism seems crappy and the joints are all loose etc.
I haven't opened the dvd yet but can someone tell me whats in the dvd? Is it a documentary of clips? or a short movie?

Its Gary Chalk doing Primes voice and the scenes are from Armada to Cybertron

Yep.

That's Prime alright.

Tip though, since you didn't search first...

Pull the black tab. It'll do wonders....

I don't regret many purchases, but I am still pissed I spent $20 on this.

The dvd sucked, too.

Primes Punching action is his upper torso spins around like a crazy person. But if you pull back on the black tab, until it locks. It stops spinning around, and becomes very poseable.

The DVD has scenes depicting the battle between Optimus and Megatron from Armada Energon and Cybertron. Not really anything to write home about.

I paid $13.88 for it at Target, I went a little too late so all was left was just this two pack. I even called to ask if any transformers was on sale and they said no! :-x
Oh well I am not too fond of this Prime but the Megatron is pretty alright.

I like his Robot mode. its pretty detailed. But his Truck mode is just sad. Had the made the legs collapse into his lower legs it would have looked a lot better.

Megs is all right except for the ridiculous spinning arm weapon. Why couldn't they give him a normal arm, with a mounted weapon. with a little flashing light or something instead of that lame gimmick. Other than that he is a pretty good figure.

I noticed in the instruction sheets, on megatron's feet...mine seem to not match the drawing in the instructions. Like feet in the instructions is like backwards and especially obvious when in tank mode. Did anyone notice this? I do like the clear plastic in the heads to give the fiber optic look.

There seems to be a problem going around with that Megs where his feet are backwards. A few people have reported this.
And have said that be unscrewing the legs and switching the feet around it is easily resolved.

I wouldn't even mind the spinning gimmick if they'd just given him a hand on that arm. With the little gun barrel there he still has the tank cannon on his arm but he looks like a pirate; like Hot Rod sliced his hand off and fed it to the Sharkticons. Apart from that he's probably the best tank Megatron ever, and the scale looks good next to deluxe tank/jet figures like Cybertron Unicron.

Yeah I noticed the screw on Meg's feet, so I might just go ahead and try to flip them.
Funny thing, I think I bought this set because of the Megatron figure.

Whoa, I just took apart Megs feet and not only its flipped backwards but its also on the wrong leg. The left feet can only be put on the right leg (in the corrected feet position) and vice versa.

I actually rather liked this set, the Megs (after foot surgery) is nice as a tank and a robot, looking past the spinning arm... thing... and the Prime... well he makes a decent robot, and I like how when transforming him, locking his waist into place raises the wheels to become his lower torso, I also like his gun and how it's a rear mounted turret on his truck mode... but his truck mode sucks...
