What I absolutely hate about the mechtech gimmick is that it puts huge ugly holes on the top of the alt modes for the stupid guns/claws/what-have-you's to peg into, ruining an otherwise good looking bot.

I guess these were designed for their target audience, though. Kids might not be so bothered by the peg holes, and would probably enjoy the BFG's mounted on the bots.

Personally, I'd take Automorph and Mechalive any day. As underwhelming as they were, at least they didn't put pockmarks on the roofs of the alt modes.

I like that bit of detail on the hood but those giant guns and claws on the roof of these new moviverse has saved me a lot of cash so far .

If not... at least they can be taken OFF the figure anyway.

By the looks of the car, at least the torso will be remolded, which is good when you consider what the original deluxe looks like compared to the CGI model and the HA figure.

Now this MechTech piece is making me even more sure these weapons combine into something. This definitely appears to be an arm of some sort. Could they combine into the alleged giant robot that attacks Sam in the large building?
