The ridiculous time it takes to transform some transformers has really turned me off buying more of them, lately. RiD was ridiculous (with the exception of Prime and the repaints). Side Burn took me like an hour. It seemed like they were improving with Armada, but it's gotten worse since. With the first movie, I stuck with FABs as much as I could, and I'm happy I did.

Animated was much better, for the most part.

Oh man, the RiD toys that weren't just redecos of older molds took me forever when I first got them. Granted, I hadn't had any TF's between some very early G2 and those, so I was also out of practice. After a while most of them got to be a lot easier, though. I don't think I could remember most of Megatron's modes without instructions, though.

Alternators... now those are sons of bitches. Every so often I get one of them out (I only have two) and think, now that can't be as hard to transform as I remember, can it? Then about 20 mins to a half hour later I'm sitting there ready to throw the thing across the room because I haven't quite got it yet and just wish I'd left it alone.

I think it took me about 45 mins to transform MP Megatron without instructions. 30 Mins for RotF Leader Optimus without instructions.

There are stories of people entering toy rooms to work on MP-05 Megatron, only to disappear, never to be heard from again.

And thus why I still don't own MP-05

Is he sopossed (sp?) to be that hard to transform that he takes forever?

When Michael Bay passed over Frank Welker for the Megatron role in the first Transformers film, Frank was furious and cast a horrible curse on the good people of Hasbro, and by proxy, Takara. Takara, after consulting with a fortune teller, learned that the only way to appease the evil spirit haunting their company is to pass the curse on to someone else.

Thus, MP-05 Megatron was born. Now we all share that curse.

my brother received G1 Jazz back in the 80's. It took my dad and grandad over 6 hours to get him into vehicle mode fter we transformed him lol

Other than that, cross over Darth/Death Star was probably the worst, easy to do, but the odd little flaps needed tiny fingers, which i dont have so it usually took me forever

I was trying to transform the G1 colored Mixmaster from the 2 pack w/Hoist into vehicle mode for 10 minutes. I gave up, cuz in the end it wouldn't have been worth the time it took.

Reading all these makes me think. They make these toys for kids, yet us as adults can't Transform them in a timely manner. Either kids are having just as hard of a time, or they are indeed smater then us if they can do it within mintues rather than like 20-30 mins like us.

It took me a *BLEEP* hour to transform Leader-class Prime from ROTF. And I know I didn't do it right, either. It's one of the reasons I find this particular toy to be somewhat overrated.

Haven't transformed MP Megatron and probably never will.

For me the masterpiece seeker mold i think it took me 2 hours, but that was while watching rotf so i beat i could do it a lot quiker.

I had a pretty tuff time with WFC OP. It took me a long time without the instructions and i was getting right pissed about it so i resorted to the instructions and i still was a little overwhelmed at how many little panels there were and what not. Over all i think he's pretty cool to transform now that i've become used to it.
I also have a rally hard time with TF's that turn into bikes apparently. Animated Prowl was for some ungodly reason a total bitch for me to get back into bike mode. I just couldn't wrap my mind around which way his legs went. I've only done Gen Wreck-Gar a couple times and i get a little discombobulated when it's time to swing those legs around and start puttin him back in bike mode.

TF's are getting pretty tricky these days no doubt. Far cry from my G1 days that's for sure.

I swear, you wouldn't believe the amount of time it's taken me to get him from vehicle mode to robot mode. And you know what the worst part is? It's still isn't right!



Ok, all joking aside, I'm not real sure which transformer I have that takes the longest. At the end of the day the main problem and most time consuming issue is the ones with dang panels or parts that need to line up juuussstttt right in order to work right. Movie Ironhide. Movie Megatron. The Animated Starscream mold(LEGS!!!). ROTF Long Haul(again, legs). Beast Wars Big Convoy mold can be a nusiance to get the panesl just right. I can't think of any more right now.

Complex Transformers don't always make for great Transformers. If I'm going to pick one up, I ususally go for a simpler one.

RotF Leader Prime takes me the longest. Almost figured him out without instructions, but those damn slots in the arms had me stumped!

Cybertron Primus: 2 Hours

Well, for a few of my DOTM toys (e.g Bumblebee, Ratchet) I didn't need the instructions. I looked at both modes on the box and figured out where each piece went. Afterwards I checked the instructions to make sure I didn't mistransform him, like some boxes has them to be.

I still don't have a Primus.

How messed up is that?

RiD Sideburn was the worst. Almost all I had where G1 toys and I just got into RiD. I bought Sideburn at a convention, went home, had a party, woke up near dead and thought it was a good time to try Sideburn.

I threw up before I got halfway through, due to the process taking up too much of my already limited brain capacity.

Putting him in Death Star mode is like reassembling a broken easter egg. The surface parts are even the same thickness as one!

RotF Leader Prime. Took me about 40 minues. Even Armada Unicron didn't take me that long. I have 2 of them, 1 for each mode so that I never have to touch that f**ker again.

MP Megatron wasn't nearly as bad as I thought. Though I have to admit that I was watching an instructional Youtube video while transforming him into gun mode. Turning him back into robot mode went pretty smoothly though.

Off the top of my head, ROTF LC Prime definitely had me ready to pitch him across the room after the first half hour trying to get him into truck mode. Same for ROTF LC Jetfire.

Honorable mentions go to ROTF Mixmaster, Transmetal 2 Megatron, Alternators Grimlock, and Alternators Shockwave.

Cybertron Smokescreen: Transforming his hip-cannons into car mode is frustrating.

Same goes with 2009 Concept Camaro Bumblebee(from the 2007 movie) his car chest has gotten jammed/stuck on occasion and he certainly ain't no walk in the park.

I collect legends/cyberverse and the average time i transformed them in is a minute or 2, but some of them surprised me, ie. Commander Sentinel prime which took 8 mins. but they are all easy. voyager megatron took me 15 minutes.

My nephew was showing me Hubcap for the first time, and with two swift movements. he had him transformed. Then I took a look at him and was like, "o.k., which way should I go with this" for about 3 minutes. Then he took him back stating I was taking too long. He's 9. I'm 32.

I remember, though, being that age, not needing instructions, going back and forth all day long with Six Shot, yet my dad could only scratch his head at it. Feels weird being at the opposite end of this. Sometimes I feel like I'm not the fan I once was, because I gotta use instructions now......

Seriously though, I only have a couple deluxe size figures from DOTM so far, but I really like their more simplified transformation compared to the ROTF and 2007 Movie figures. Many of those gave me headaches, even with instructions.

There was a time when I would have agreed with you. It took me a while, but I finally was able to get a hang of how to make Omega Prime, but he's definitely not kid friendly.

I've never spent more than 20 minutes on one figure. That was RotF leader Prime.
