These modern toys with their ties and such, bah, untying the plastic ones tended to shred my fingertips if I opened too many figures at once. At least the stupid paper ones are super easy to cut through with the mini scissors on my pocket knife.

And I too know the pain of thinking all those clear "rubber" bands are removed, only to come across more while transforming. It's a conspiracy!

I love those clear tiny rubber bands that holds some TF stuff together inside the packages. because those clear rubber bands are so tight & durable their the most superior rubber bands around. they hold other non-TF stuff together better than those generic rubber bands do. plus those clear rubber bands don't break that easily.

I've always hated twisty ties. I don't mind the paper ones quite as much, since they're sometimes easier to untwist, they can be cut much more easily, and they are more environmentally friendly. I still don't like them, though.

Since the newer twist ties are made of paper. they don't twist into place. they tie knots to stay secure.

I found an easy trick to untie the paper ties. If you twist the end tighter it becomes rigid and you can easily push it through the knot.

never had an issue with either as i use a dental pick to undo the ties works like a charm whether plastic or paper. :D

still dont get why they dont use clamshells as that would eliminate the ties.

Because clam shells are dangerous due to the sharp edges.

Aren't those what they used in G2? I hated those, you practically needed a chainsaw to open them.

I hate those things too.

Cost is probably why they don't use them. It's cheaper to tie a figure in with some paper or plastic than it is to secure the figure in a plastic shell.

The sayd when twist ties weren't need are over. People are more apt to steal when there's little work needed to get the parts out in the store.
