Craigslist pick up

Postby Tim Vader » Thu Dec 29, 2011 1:04 pm

Hey guys. I am new here, but I didn't see an introduction section yet. I have just completed my Star Wars run and decided to move onto some of the G1 transformers. I have not seen most of these since I was a kid in the 80's, but I loved them. I just could not afford another hobby while trying to finish the star wars one.

Anyway. I was on craigslist the other day looking at a star wars lot, and the seller said he had a box of transformers stuff that he wanted to sell also. I asked for pics and knew right away I wanted the lot. I had a friend grab them for me since I was on a double shift and almost died when I saw everything that was in the lot.

I still have a ton of bits and pieces that I am sorting to complete some of them. I have parts with no bot, and bots with no parts, but I know I have some goodies in here!

Here are a few pics, minus the hundreds of missiles, fists, chrome weapons, hoses, and god only knows what else!

Skywarp was always one of my favorites as a kid, I need to find his left rudder to complete him ASAP. I have plenty of parts that have no figure to offer in trade if anyone is interested.

How much did you pay for all of that? I myself have gotten some great deals off of craigs list. Sure is fun going through a box of toys from ones child hood. Brings back lots of memories.

Lats year I got a huge lot of of craigs. 1 box of MASK, 1 box of Transformers, 1 Box of He-Man, 1 Box of Random Action Figures, 1 Box of Micro Machines and like 4 boxes of GI Joe. These were huge boxes and I only paid $150. It was so much fon going through it all

$30 ....... WOW that is an amazing deal. Sort of funny what people sell old toys for. I have found good stuff at garage sales over the years too.

I will definitely get pics of all of the parts. I just need to get all the figures sorted with their pieces first. So much chrome plated plastic and tiny missiles and fists, lol

Will be late tonight, but I will get them up. These are the pics he had with the ad

Congrats on the find and welcome to Seibertron. That is the deal of the century there my friend.

The seller could have easily pieced that out on ebay and probably made 15 times what you paid.

Keee-rhist all mighty you got a killer deal there!

I reckon that box if each figure was complete and to be sold seperately on Ebay could wrangle you an easy 500-800 bucks (albeit Ebay prices are criminally inflated mind you).

What a way to start your collecting. Geez.

But as Hip Hoptimus said......get on putting some of those spare parts up for sale would ya. ;)

If eBay prices are criminally inflated, what does that make BotCon dealer room prices?

Was that rhetorical? i don't know...i've never been to Botcon. For an example of "criminally inflated". I recently saw a Classics Cosmos for the buy it now price of $175.

Nevertheless. I do find deals on Ebay still but they are most certainly getting fewer and farther between. I certainly won't find a deal like this guy got! That's for sure.

EDIT- almost forgot......Welcome to the forums Tim Vader.

I scored a star wars lot for $204 that had a double telescoping Luke, blue snaggletooth, and 60 other complete figures. I kept what I needed and sold the remaining 75% for more than what the lot cost me.

The die cast tie bomber with box was a $20 buy it now

I also had a few unreal deals on some sealed star wars multi packs in the last dew weeks. I seem to do great buying on eBay, but selling sucks!

Yes, there are some ridiculous BIN listings on eBay (listed by idiots mostly,) but that's not really reflective of eBay prices since that **** never sells. But yeah, OP got a steal of a deal.

And yes...welcome to the site, new guy.
