is their really that much demand for these two? do that many TF fans wanna see DOTM/Trilogy 2012 leader size new mold toys get made for shockwave & megatron?

I'm referring to internet based transformers fans wanting DOTM/trilogy leader sized toys of shockwave & megatron in 2012.

I'm a bit puzzled. Why the sudden change of heart & support for the bigger sized TF toys like leader sized new molds.

I thought I was in the minority here & on the internet TF message forums For loving & buying only the bigger sized TF toys like voyagers,ultra's & leaders. most on-line TF fans don't understand why I hate/loathe the tiny TF toys like legends,basics,deluxes.

from the TF message forums,it seemed like most TF internet fans liked/bought the smaller tiny TF toys like legends,basics,scouts & deluxes.

So why is their such on-line TF fandom demand for DOTM leader sized toys of megatron & shockwave? PLEASE CAN A FEW WHO WANT THESE EXPLAIN WHY THEY WANNA BUY THEM.

my guesses as to why the demand is their for dotm leader sized shockwave & leader sized megatron is as follows: (1) perhaps some on-line TF fans want them for secondary market re-selling profit via ebay auctions. i think most are banking on these being released in the last wave of the toy line. hoping they'll get made in low volume. buy up all the toys then re-sell them on-line for profit.

PERSONALLY,I JUST WANT THE DOTM & MOVIE VERSE TOY LINE TO GO AWAY & GET CANCELLED. I'm hoping the 2012 trilogy movie verse toy line is 95% repaints/remolds.

SORRY,I JUST think the money & rources would be spent better on making TF Prime or generations styled leader sized TF toys. instead of wasting this on creating 2012 new mold movie verse dotm/trilogy TF leader sized toys.

I don't want to see DOTM nor trilogy new molds leader sized toys created in 2012 for megatron nor shockwave. BECAUSE BOTH CHARACTERS RECEIVED HIDEOUS & UGLY DESIGNS IN THE DOTM MOVIE. I think the voyager sized toys for dotm megatron & shockwave were decent & should be it for these two characters.

IMHO,Dotm shockwave was a ugly movie CGI Design. with a horrible voyager size dotm toy. I just don't see how increasing this toy mold from voyager to leader size would help make it be a better toy. the robot & tank mode for the voyager toy looked nothing like 1985 shockwave. even the robot head looked horrible. so why does anyone want to see/buy a leader sized toy of this? are they hoping for a more realistic tank mode like 2007 movie verse brawl got??????/

As far as a DOTM/TRILOGY new mold leader sized megatron toy goes. IMHO,What's the point when the voyager toy was decent? from my experience buying movie verse megatron toys. the voyagers alays have more posabilty & more colors on the mold. the 2007 leader sized megatron & ROTF Leader sized megatron toys had less poseabilty & less colors on the molds than the leader sized toys. SO WHY DOES SOME/MOST WANT A DOTM/TRILOGY LEADER SIZED MEGATRON TOY????

Are some hoping for more accessories comming with DOTM/trilogy Megatron like the chain wrapped around the robot chest/body? the cloth cape? the robotic insect pets packed inside the hollow damaged robot head? do some want to see a damaged robot head? IMHO,PERSONALLY I THINK BOTH TAKARA & HASBRO ARE TOO CHEAP & NAIEVE TO GIVE US ANY OF THESE ACCESSORIES I MENTIONED IN THIS PARAGRAPH PACKED WITH A LEADER SIZED DOTM/TRILOGY MEGATRON 2012 NEW MOLD TOY.

because I thought the majority hated leader sized TF toys. especially in the movie verse. because leader sized TF toys are too big to carry along on trips in the car,work,vactation. leader sized movie verse TF toys are to complex & take forever to transform. some/most prefer quanity over quality,they'd rather spend $44.99 on 7 TF new mold instead of on one TF toy purchase. some/most cited the high price tags & said they could afford them. some/most think their too big & most TF toys should be only deluxes,basics & legends.

The leader class stick out from all the other classes due to their sheer size.
This allows them to be a centerpiece or focal point of sorts to a collection.

Unlike in G1 where they would get shot at a couple of times and retreat, in the movieverse they get shot up, stabbed. beat up, etc..., they die(too easily for me). This earns them a badass award at times.

People who enjoy the movies and collect the toys may want the ultimate in namesake in toy form, that is the leader class, sorry supreme class is usually too bulky and doesn't translate well for Transformers.

Shockwave, while not having a huge stake in the movie he did command two scenes and Prime knew who he was when he saw him the first time, telling us he was a well established Decepticon. Through his command the driller tank destroyed large areas. Impressive! Now, I'm not so much a fan of his alt mode, but a leader class of Shockwave is almost a need. Most shots of him in the movie gave him a hulking, massive, larger than life look , personally I was sure of a leader class, til there was none.

Megatron, really? Every movie he has sported a new alt mode and recieved the leader treatment, until DOTM. What?? I keep wondering if Hasbro and Takara are just playing a cruel sick joke on us. I foresee riots if there is no leader Megs released in the Movie Trilogy line.

I stopped buying movie stuff after the first movie. Except for leader class figures. I like big, detailed Transformers. Starscream, ROTF Prime, and Ironhide are great.

The demand is there because they need leader class figures to be in scale with other leader class GODS like Leader Sentinel Prime, Striker Optimus, Leader Starscream, and some others, I suppose Brawl... But yeah, that and they won't be total fails like Ironhide and Bumblebee. Why the hell did we need a bumblebee? We didn't! Megatron and Shockwave are two more oppertunities to do good. Hasbro doesn't often get oppertunities re-presented to them after failing once.

Maybe it's my G1 nostalgia, but I like when they make huge toys based on toys that were initially huge like Shockwave. As for Megatron, why would we get a DOTM Leader Ironhide and not a Megatron? Poor boy even got himself "Mace Windued" in the movie.

Shockwave I don't care about. I have the voyager, I'm happy with it. But Megatron? I think his DotM alt mode was the best of the 3, and if one got a Leader Class toy, that should have been it. Hopefully it'll still happen.

And yeah, movie toys sell a lot better than Generations. Chances of larger than deluxe toys in Generations is slim to none. And that's fine.

after 3 movies weve finally recieved a version of megatron that is a real work of art so a leader sized figure would really help this movie line go out with a bang.and personally ive got all the movie leaders and not having him in that size class really leaves my collection lacking.

Hasbro/Takara have a yearly Transformers budget that is split between their various TF toy lines they create yearly. Needless to say if Hasbro/Takara create 2 new mold leader sized toys for DOTM/Trilogy line in 2012. then this will steal away 2 leader sized toy slots from the Transformers Prime toy line. I'D RATHER WE GOT 2 OR 3 LEADER SIZED TF PRIME TOYS INSTEAD OF ZERO OR ONE TF PRIME LEADER SIZED TOYS. Because dotm/trilogy stole away the 2 leader sized toy slots in the budget for the 2012 yearly line.

Leader sized toys are by no means easy to create. Hasbro isn't going to create 2 leader sized dotm/trilogy toys in 2012. then also create 2 or 3 TF Prime leader sized toys in 2012. then maybe create one leader sized toy for the generations 2012 toy line.

Sorry,I just don't want a 3RD movie verse leader sized megatron toy,two is enough. DOTM Shockwave had a beyond ugly generic looking CGI Movie design,I don't think it merits a leader sized toy. I'd much rather we got a generations 2012 leader sized shockwave toy that looked like the 1985 shockwave toy in both modes,yes i want a space laser gun alt mode.

We may get leader class figures for TF Prime but I wouldn't hold my breath for anything other than deluxe for Generations. I would much rather see a Leader Class DotM Megatron than Leader Class for the Prime show. Why? Because Megatron's overall design is better than any character (except maybe Ratchet) on Prime. Like I said, I can do without Leader Shockwave, but DotM Megatron is a must.

Hasbro clearly stated at Botcon 2008/2009 that the main reason they decided against doing a supreme sized animated omega supreme toy. was because the movie verse toys ate up all the bigger sized toys/supreme budget/resources/man power/talent/etc....

Hasbro also stated clearly at another botcon. that the main reason generations was going to be no bigger than deluxes. was because the movie verse toys were getting all the bigger sized TF toys & the movie verse toys ate up all the budget/resources/man power/talent/etc....

BTW,We did get some classic styled TF voyagers in RTS.

The main reasons why Alternators,titanium 6 inch TF toys were cancelled. was due to hasbro wanting to focus all their resources,budget money,man power,artist,sculptist on the movie verse TF toy lines. FYI,We were suspose to get a cadillac escalade megatron for alternators. a G-1 styled galvatron that transformed into a laser canon for the titanium 6 inch transformers toy line. Hearts of steele titanium 7 inch transformers toys. those 4 cancelled proto types toys of G-1 shockwave,g-1 arcee,G-1 cosmos & WW Bumblebee for the titanium 6 inch transformers toy line. but the movie verse toy lines called all of this.

Hasbro put both animated & classics 1.0 toy lines on HIATUS. to make the movie verse toys more awesome. the budget,resources,etc.. was needed for the movie verse. hasbro had plans to return to animated after a year,do season 4 & make more animated toys. but cartoon network said no. hasbro did return to classics,then take another break for the movies then return to classics & call it generations & RTS.

So as you can tell,I dis-like the movies because they cancel decent TF toy lines. the movies also cause decent TF toy lines to not do bigger sized TF toys due to hasbro's yearly budget. SO NO I DON'T WANT NEW MOLD MOVIE VERSE DOTM/TRILOGY LEADERS OF MEGATRON & SHOCKWAVE IN 2012. I'd rather we got two to three TF prime leader sized toys in 2012. with maybe a supreme sized TF prime toy. I'd love at least one generations 2012 new mold leader sized TF toy.

If hasbro wants to release DOTM/TRIOLOGY Leaders in 2012. then give us the takara DA-15 Jetwing prime from takara's 2011 line.
also remold the rotf leader megatron toy from 2009,with a super poseable tank turrent/arm with a universal shoulder joint,elbow joints,360 degree swivel joint in arm,articulated poseable fingers. BTW,I HATE THE TRILOGY DELUXE TOY WITH TRAILER IT'S AWFUL cuz it's gonna cost leader size prices & it's a poor substitute for DA-15 Jetwing prime.

Is it too much to ask that the movie verse toys/theathre movies go away for three to four years. I don't want a TF4 with micheal bay & shia in 2014/15.

I'm not a fan of the Movie-verse designs either. I own Prime and BB from the first film, and some Human Alliance basics and Powerglide from DOTM. The Human Alliance ones I tend to really like, but beyond that I don't see me buying movie toys. I do understand though, that Hasbro put more resources into making the toys that they're going to sell more of to shops.

I'd rather there was an option for me to buy a leader sized Classics styled TF or two (although, it'd probably still be Prime and Megatron, despite them being out of scale with the rest of the line this way...unless it was Op with a trailer.) but that's not the way it's going to be. I'd also wonder if, without the income provided by the movie lines, if we'd have had the Universe Classics 2.0 or Generations lines? No,Because during Hasbro's Transformers Rid & AEC toy lines from 2001 thru 2006,Hasbro did just fine with releasing side lines. like the following: Dinobots which were NEO & BW/BM repaints. before the movies there was no way guaranteed to sell the line to retailers. Sure there were cartoons which promoted the main lines, but those were known by a handful of people outside the target market. The Bayverse, much as some of us might not like to admit it, or not like the end result, is a multimillion dollar advert for the Transformers toy franchise. Creatively satisfying or not, it sells toys and makes people aware of the franchise in general a lot better than some cartoons that might be on Saturday morning amidst a heap of others with similar agendas, or a comic book series that sells maybe 20k a month worldwide.

How many of these side lines sold, in total, to retailers, the number that any 1 movie Bumblebee mold has done? You don't know, and neither do I, but I suspect Hasbro would be able to look at those numbers, and I'd suspect that there might be a reason we see a lot of BB's on the shelves. In the short term (IE the last 5 years or so) it's no bad thing. Retailers buy the things, and if they sell to customers, then great. As we've all seen, it does get to the stage where consumers get burned out, and we get these shelves after shelves of vaguely different movie line repaints that no-one cares about, but I think that's being seen and we are seeing more diversity in the lines again. For Classics stuff, we had RTS and Generations this year, and PCCs and Human Alliance stuff were nice variations on the general theme as well. Going forward we'll have to see what Hasbro do in regards toylines (there will be a new Classics style one, probably, this proposed Movie Trilogy line and there might be a Prime line, or they could all end up under the same branding...I can't tell you) but I'd still expect them to take advantage of someone else spending millions on advertising their products. And wouldn't you rather they did that and made more money that they can spend on new Classics styled toys rather than produce none at all?

Hell yes I want a leader class DOTM Megs and Shockers.. I love Big Ass TF's, and both of these characters deserve a Leader Class.
Don't get me wrong, I realize the deluxe, and voyager size is the bread and butter, but I for one want more Leader Class figures. Megatron and Shockwave both got wacked in DOTM, so if Ironed Hide and Sentinal got a Leader figure, then for goodness sakes Megs and Shockers deserve one.
Hasbro, please do them and do the right.

There was no Tidal Wave toy that got cancelled. The only thing movie tidalwave that exists is the CGI Render. I do agree though, that would make an awesome toy! anyway dude, there seems to be ONE thing your forgetting. some of us actually LIKE the movies and their designs! Sure, I tend to tire of Bumblebee being EVERYWERE, and I did get pissed when Animated was cancelled, but what are we going to do about it? Make long winded speeches that no-one important will ever read, and if they do, wont do a damn thing? All of what your saying is heard by us fans in some way, but Hasbro/Takara won't do anything upon reading a post like this, if they even read it at all that is!
I Guess the point is: What they decide to do, is not influnced by you. It rhymes so you can remember it easier. I mean it, I often repeat that in my head. Hasbro wont listen to you, so your opinionated long speeches wont get you anywere. you need to be patient, and go with the flow. If hasbro doesn't do it for you, there are always. ALWAYS, 3rd parties picking up the slack.

I have to agree that the DOTM Megatron was finally the movie version which we all needed as a 'Transformer' as it seemed to encompass everything which a Transformer should have and which made them popular for all, a humanoid bot mode and a vehicle mode which one could see driving by? He's a robot in disguise!

Figures that the movie toys sell better than the Generations right now because the movie has been the only mass produced product pushed into the general publics frame of mind over the last couple of years.
Even taking into account the comic books and classics figures, neither of which are being promoted in regular high street stores (in the UK at least), which leaves only the fans 'in the know' to keep the fires burning, as always.

Heres to 2012 and a new understanding, love and appreciation of all things Transformers...
Lets keep that spark alive!

My thoughts exactly. As for the signature edition set, I am passing. It's a nice packaging and all, but not for $100. And even though I enjoy his movies mostly, Bay's signature isn't really worth that to me. Unless he dies in a set explosion on his next movie...

It would be awesome to have a comic or cartoon series based on the Generations characters, even if a lot of them are G1 rehashes.
