Movie series dlx Optimus w Trailer Scale?
- Weapon: Acid Spray Gun
Hi Folks - What other figures is this dlx w trailer in scale with if anything?
Looking at the package in the store it looks pretty nice. Noticed the front grill is a silver/chrome, which is intersting considering the voyager, ultimate, and even past leader primes did not receive such a nice paint job.
Was thinking of getting it, but wondering what other figures it would be in scale with to display...I'm thinking nothing lol.

Only Voyager Megatron. And between you and me, you're far better off not worrying about scale at all. At least Hasbro doesn't.

He should be in scale w/ Megs from DOTM and I'd even go so far as to say movie 1 Bonecrusher, movie 1 payload, Voyager Sentinel Prime, and some of the helo's... like Blackout/grindor?
Below is a picture of him w/ Ultimate Optimus prime and Cyberverse prime.

Re: Movie series dlx Optimus w Trailer Scale?
Basically, Legends cars and Scout - Deluxe trucks.
More specifically, Optimus is somewhere in between 1/50 and 1/60 scale. As it turns out, several Decepticons have been released under this same scale range:

Legends Soundwave, Barricade, Sideways
Deluxe Brawl, Bonecrusher, Payload
Voyager Bludgeon, Megatron (the truck itself is somewhere between Scout and Deluxe, thus he fits that "rule")
Leader Starscream (going by the F-22's size)
Works great in bot modes, too. Apart from Starscream, the toys manage to be in the same scale once transformed.

I was working on writing up a review of this figure (along with three other trailer toting Primes) but my website seems to be experiencing technical difficulties since yesterday afternoon... Hopefully it will be back in order in the not too distant future. But I digress, I thought maybe I'd show off a few of the photos I've taken for my review that could give you some idea of scale. Someone else posted pics already of the Deluxe Prime along with the Cyberverse and Ultimate ones... But I'll one up that by including the Voyager one as well. Here's a few photos of them together in vehicle mode, and a shot of them together in robot mode (along with a DVD case to supply some sense of scale).

I really wish it was in scale with Classics Voyager OP. I know they make a 3rd party trailer/armor for him, but that thing's expensive yo.

Aww, now you made me go and break out my camera...

You're right, definitely not in scale with Classics Optimus.

We get a bit closer with the Voyager, but even that is a bit small. Besides which, neither one of these would have a proper connection point to Classics Prime.

Now that's better! It is a bit pricy, yes... but at least it is still available and thus you don't have to resort to insane eBay prices. And on the subject of pricy trailers, this Classics Prime trailer kicks much arse and is in my opinion worth it, as opposed to the one with the DOTM Voyager Prime, which if I was sane (and not such a trailer slut) I'd probably regret...

Edit: Woah, my website, which had been mysteriously down since yesterday afternoon, seems back! If you want to see more on the Classics Prime's trailer, it is featured in the first review I wrote for the site. As far as the DOTM Prime review I'd mentioned above that I was working on... Well, I suppose now I have incentive to finish it, and I'll come back to this thread and shamelessly promote myself once I'm finished!

I mentioned in a previous post that I was working on a review of four DOTM trailer towing Primes, including this Deluxe one. I also mentioned that when I was done with that review, I'd come back here for some shameless self promotion. At the risk of some redundancy with a post I've made in the toy review forum, this is that shameless self promotion. Enjoy!

Hi, I enjoyed your review, but your Cyberverse Prime review lacked a list of variants. You could have listed the variants, or at least mention that a blackish trailer was produced as a Wal-mart exclusive(since this essentially was a review of DOTM Primes with trailer

It also stated:
Other then an unpleasent gap on each side,
Those gaps allow weapon placement due to the handle bars:
Alas, the excessories I am featuring here are mutually exclusive. This is not at surprising and not terribly bothersome, as admitedly they were sold seperately with different decos of this Optimus Prime toy, so they were not designed to work together.
I find this comment wrong as well
I have worked together the three accessory variations together(with an extra jetpack) to make a cyberverse Ultimate Prime of sorts.
You also failed to mention the ports on top of the trailer for Mechtech or Mini-con play value, one male and one female, although the female seems a bit loose(no pun intended

Prime's trailer also features a linking capability to use with other playsets
I'm sorry if I come off like a douche, I'm not trying to, I just love that toy and wanna help clear up lost opportunities for a great review.

Re: Movie series dlx Optimus w Trailer Scale?

First off, I don't feel you're coming off as a douche. Some of your comments are rather insiteful. I will address a few points, however.
I did handwave that a bit in my review when I said, "For the sake of completeness, I'll mention that (not counting various repaints) there was one additional version of this Optimus Prime that had yet another set of accessories, two different big guns and a pair of swords, both of which could be attached in either robot or vehicle mode." (Also, at one point I state, "He's been repainted a plethora of times.") Even that's a bit more then I'd usually go into in my reviews, though, since I tend to like to concentrate on reviewing what I have rather then commenting on what I don't have.
Huh... It never occured to me to use them as 3mm clip points. Of course, as there isn't a great excess of 3mm clip-on accessories out there (and what ones I do have tend to stay with the figures they come with) I tend not to exparament with that a lot. (This is completely off topic, but I really think Hasbro dropped the ball with the 3mm clip thing... They've included atachment points on many toys, but often those toys -- Warpath, for example -- don't even come with compatable weapons. If they want us to take advantage of these, they should have been throwing extra weapons in with a lot of these figures. Perhaps something for a third party company to take up the challange of?)
Anyway, I know why it is there (clearance for those handles which you've also found can be a 3mm clip atachment point). And I'm not overly bothered by it. But if we're looking at the trailer asthetically, I stand by my statement that it is an unpleasent gap.
That is... That is impressive. Of course, as I don't have the extra backpack, I can't pull that off. Still, nice one!
I suppose that was an unfortunate omission on my part. And bad pun! Bad! Go stand in the corner!
I suppose in theory that would be worth mentioning, too. But since this is pretty much the only DOTM Cyberverse toy I have I was not quite aware of this, and even if I was I can kind of only review what I have. Still, that is neat to know and it looks like if you're really into Cyberverse (as opposed to me, who is just really into Optimus) you can get a lot of play value out of that.
If you're feeling up to it (although you're under no obligation to) I'd not mind inviting you to write up your additional thoughts on this figure in a slightly more formal fashion, and I can publish them (with full credit to you, of course) as an addendium to the review. (Or if you don't wish to do so yourself, would you mind if I took your photos and comments, again with credit to you, and did something with them?)
If you're at all interested, feel free to contact me in a PM. If not, no problem. Either way, glad you enjoyed the review!

Super dope!!! Glad I could help. I hope it helps people realize what a great little toy it is. Just wish the Deluxe trailer had as much versatility. Maybe someone will prove me wrong.
