This stuff annoys me soooo much that i might just walk away soon. Fighting with a dude in China while i'm in Canada and Ebay in between is rather tedious.

I stand to lose 50 bucks though. But if you think in terms that i would blow that at the pub in a night over beers then i guess i can turn my back on the situation easy enough and take my lumps.

Although at the pub I'd get a couple laughs for my investment and a nice buzz. ;)

Sucks, dude. Still, if it's a package from China, it's not going to be trackable through Canadian post: you should try Chinese Postal services.
Personally, I've had the very worst experiences not with any foreign sellers, but with MF'ers from right here in my home country of the Netherlands...

Well if that's the case then why would he tell me to check my postal office with the number here in Canada and not check it for me in China to save face. Cause he must know i will most certainly leave a scathing Feedback.

But i'll take your advice and check myself. Thanx

EDIT:i just checked and China Post has no record of it either.

Like i said. I might just have to walk away on this one. If anything, just to save my sanity.

just a quick warning about ebay seller rei_jinn.

This seller has been selling encore convoys on ebay for some time, his price was good, so I bought a pair.

the items came totally rusted out. New and sealed but apparently stored somewhere humid or wet as the wheel wells, were brown and green from rust.

that wouldnt be so bad, if he had accepted a return, but instead, he opened a paypal claim against me, and with his tracking #s (which is the only thing paypal checks)he overturned my request for a return or partial refund.

even worse, I offered to buy two more if he would inspect them before sending, offered to return the two items and he could just send me two more, no refund needed.

his response? he blocked me.

Please beware of this seller, he knows exactly how to play ebay and paypal and used this knowledge to screw me out of $220.

DONT BUY FROM REI_JINN!
Have you tried calling Paypal directly?

It looks like Rei Jinn had some other deleted accounts. Google Rei Jinn and you'll find some.

Not that I want to stereotype a particular race/region but based on his answers, I already personally encountered people with the same mindset as that seller. Not on ebay btw. I hope/wish you the best Sid burn.

Thanks for the best wishes Fenrir72.

I took a look at his negative feedback as well, this seller is very combative.

he accused me of trying to bully him/scam him for a refund.
I asked him to be reasonable, and he actually sent me an email back that just said f**k you.

classy guy.

Though that sellers' attitude leaves much to be desired, its highly possible that the materials used on the axle of Encore may be from the same stuff similar to MP Megatron's feet.........full of "cosmic rust" infection (seriously......might be like the G1 Doubledealer screws of the 80's) and given Singapore's tropical climate.........though I checked my own Encore Convoy and the axles are not rusty, so you might just have gotten the rusted batch?

Btw, instead of Singapore, I know of a source, also in South East Asia,of a cheaper (Singaporeans also order from this source too) Encore Convoy without any rust. And the owner isn't such a smart @ss as that "person". Just pm me and I'll refer to you the source.

I'm not accusing anybody of anything here. I don't use Ebay that much. I'm not associated with REI_JIN or Sid in any way. I just like to keep things fair and call a spade a spade when I see one.

There is a lot of ebay auctions that happen everyday and not all of them can/will go perfectly. Ebay/paypal do have a reputation for being very notoriously buyer biased.

In the case of the two people involved here: REI_JIN does have a few negative/neutral feedbacks on his profile. 15 out of 700+ didn't go so smoothly for him. Thats about a 98% positive clip. Thats not too bad.

But check on Sid's feedback left for others and you'll see that he leaves negative/neutral feedback to other sellers at a higher rate than REI_JIN receives it from other buyers. According to the feedback left for others, about 96% of Sid's auctions go well compared to REI_JIN's 98%. Products received damaged, over-charging for shipping, and products from smoking homes were common themes. He even left snarky responses to those who had left him positive feedback in a few instances, choosing to focus on a small neutral blurp left in an otherwise positive feedback left for him.

Point is, there are bad buyers in the ebay world as well as bad sellers. Some buyers just aren't happy unless their item is shipped the very second it is paid for. Or buyers tend to not read all of the terms of the auction and get upset when the seller wants to abide by those terms. There are as many scammer buyers out there as there are scammer sellers.

The overwhelming majority of Ebay auctions go well. The law of averages says that some will occasionally go bad. Sometimes its somebody's fault. Somtimes it isn't. I'm not saying that either the buyer or the seller is a bad Ebayer in this situation. But if we are going to be receiving cautionary warnings about one seller because he has a few bad auctions out of 700+ then we should be transparent with the facts so that we may also consider the source. Statistically speaking, I have a better chance of having a good experience from buying something from REI_JIN than I do from selling something to Sid.

Agreed.

Do we have a blacklist up here for members to use as reference? Not that it will prevent non-members from buying from this MF but at least a sizeable potential market will be blocked (I am assuming many transformers collectors are on here)

That may be statistically true, but my 420 perfect feedback on ebay is all from stuff I bought, I rarely ever sell things on ebay.

400+ transformers purchases will have a few lemons here and there, so I dont really see what your point is for other seibertron members.

Should I not leave negative feedback when a purchase goes poorly due to seller negligence/rudeness/dishonesty/incompetence?

is your point that me chasing down a few bad sellers over the years invalidates my warning to other collectors about this ebay seller?

that doenst seem to make much sense, I have nothing to gain by posting the warning, I already lost the $200 to the seller. All he had to do was grant me a return and I would have gladly shipped these primes back to him, for a replacement or a refund.

you certainly put some effort into making your point, I just dont why you made it.

I made it for the purpose of allowing people to keep perspective. REI_JIN might be a bad Ebay seller. Then again, you might be the type of buyer who runs down a seller for some petty reason that most people wouldn't. How do I know? How does anyone here know?

But you have people here calling Rei_jin names and trying to add him to some blacklist and all I am saying is maybe that is deserved and maybe it isn't. We don't have all of the facts that you have. We don't have the final product. We aren't privy to the communication that happened between the two of you.

Getting information out there is a good thing. I have no problems with your original post. But I have seen many times online where people will post negative reviews about a product or restaurant because they had one bad experience. Even though there are many other good reviews about said product or restaurant.

Everyday in the app store for my cell phone, I see people rating apps one star and writing reviews that clearly show that they didn't read anything about the app before they downloaded it.

My point, that didn't take that much effort really, was to provide all of the facts so that people can make an informed decision. You are mad about your experience. I would be to if the events went down the way you suggested. But a scorned wife probably isn't the best person to ask for an opinion on her ex-husband. And a critic infamous for saying that every movie is terrible probably isn't the best person to ask what to see on Saturday night.

I merely put more facts on the table for the other readers to consider. I don't mean to suggest that I am taking up arms for the seller or that I think that its your fault that the auction didn't go well. The source always has to be considered before you put stock into any information.

Turns out i won my case. Can't believe it to be honest.

I also threatened to the seller when i escalated the case that i will leave the most scathing feedback that my limited command of the English language will allow.

After getting the email that Ebay miraculously was in my favour and refunded my money i decided to go back on Ebay to see what was up with the seller. I noticed that the seller has changed his name on Ebay but is still selling the same item but with more secure shipping options.

Small victory. And now he gets his ass covered too when he ships items next time and doesn't have to go through this nonsense again. Win-win i guess you could say.

I still want the figure though damn it.

With 9 neutral and 6 negatives this year (2 this month) and factoring in the feedback the seller left PLUS the seller outing Sid's real name and partials of his paypal info in other peoples feedback, it's pretty easy to figure out. The feedback Rei Jin left for other people is kind of ridiculous too and reading the neutrals they may as well be negatives mostly. I don't know either one but looks like Sid trying to put out a fair and justified warning. Seller seems like a grade A douche/bad seller IMHO. Him (the seller) pimping the system is even more of a warning sign, he's out to rip people if he can. I've bought from a few jerks like that and they're all alike. Just sayin......

so by your logic, your opinion means less than mine since I have 1300+ posts and know many of the posters here while you have 200 with no real history on the site? have to consider the source right?

that is just silly, that would invalidate everyone's opinion that doesnt have 1000+ posts. take a look at this seller's history, and ask yourself if you would buy from him now knowing that if you arent happy with your purchase, the likeliness you will be treated fairly is very low.

and that he will use any method he can to keep the money regardless of buyer satisfaction.

sometimes always speaking from the fence can mean you dont really say anything at all.

I have been collecting bots from the collectors community on ebay for many years, with hundreds of transactions under my belt. This seller (rei_jin)isnt helping the TF community, he is a parasite attached to it.

I am not coming from a place of anger, I already have the primes resold to a customizer I know.

I don't disagree with you at all. Not one single bit. I agree with every letter you just said. But, to be fair, look at Sid's feedback left for others and you see red flags that make him seem like a "grade A douche" as well. Particularly snarky comments that he left in response to people who left him positive feedback. Seems kind of douchey to me. Sid's neutrals may as well be considered negatives as well.

Again, REI_JIN's tactics are questionable and he might be just a regular old douche bag. But 98% of his auctions went well based on feedback provided. 98%! Thats almost as good odds as a Maury Povich paternity test. Based on feedback left, Sid is happy with his sellers less frequently than REI's customers are with him. Maybe Sid is the kind of guy who can't be made happy no matter what the seller does. And clearly, based on feedback left, even if Sid is left positive feedback, he may still try to get a snippy comment in from time to time.

All I know is that when I saw this warning about a bad ebay seller, I checked his feedback. Then I checked the feedback of the guy putting the information out to see if the guy is credible or not. Just because somebody collects transformers and has been a member of a board for a long time doesn't mean he is automatically credible. I believe we saw evidence of that recently here with the thread about the fake transformer sold at Botcon. As already stated, I saw red flags with Sid's feedback.

I just put it out there for people to consider. People can choose on their own whether to use this info or not.

Sid Burn wrote:so by your logic, your opinion means less than mine since I have 1300+ posts and know many of the posters here while you have 200 with no real history on the site? have to consider the source right?

To me, thats apples and oranges. I never said that neither you or REI_JIN were good or bad ebayers based on the number of feedback left or received. I took the feedback that was there, read what both of you wrote to your respective buyers/sellers and formed my own opinion. I won't dictate to you who you should and shouldn't trust or what criteria you should base that trust on.

At the end of the day, I did my own research on the matter. I saw a picture that is a little more gray than the black and white one that you portrayed. Honestly, I'm not sure I was the only one, as others in the thread questioned how the normally pro-buyer Ebay would shut down a buyer so swiftly and decisively as it apparently had in this situation. But really that doesn't matter.

I saw what I saw and presented my findings here for people to read. If they don't like them or choose to ignore or discredit them, thats their business. No skin off of my back either way.

Personally, in my view, 98% is still a pretty good number. Given the circumstances, I would probably buy something small off of REI_JIN and see how the experience goes before I bought something big. As for Sid, I hope the experience works out the best possible way for you. I wish no ill will on anyone. Its too bad when an ebay experience goes bad. There are plenty of sellers and buyers out there who ruin the experience, and thats a shame.

Best to all of you.

Lesson learned though may I emphasize, not all (only some people from that) region of the world act like d*uch*bags.

@joey

You have a point about believing everything hook, line and sinker from Sid (that's why I asked from It is Him a link on this Rei Jinns' ebay site) but based on his responses in his negative and neutral feedback, well his statements leave too much to be desired (his words can't be faked no?)

Had a similar situation though I kind of let it go when an American ebay seller sold me a loose but kind of fine to good incomplete Wheeljack that had an ugly paint chip on his right side(this wasn't presented on his image reference pics) being forgiving (and well sort of happy to have gotten him (around $30.00 +++) politely posted my thanks and reminded the seller to be more forthcoming in the future......ouch!

The slime ball may be the seller, buyer both etc........d@mn hobby of ours

I never stole from a seller or buyer, but by using his knowledge of ebay and paypal to turn a case in his favour regardless of whether or not my item was damaged (and it certainly was)rei_jinn did steal from me.

I never asked him to do anything above and beyond, just replace or refund a defective item. Something that nearly any power seller would do in a heartbeat to preserve his customer relationships.

I dont care if I left 1000 negs to every seller under the sun, leaving feedback is part of ebay, stealing from buyers is not (at least it isnt supposed to be)

finally, telling me I left a neg for someone who left me a pos is irrelevant, ebay made it impossible for sellers to leave anything but pos feedback years ago.

This is meant as a warning to my fellow collectors, take it or leave it.

joesayso, I never insulted you, but you have certainly felt free to relate me to several insulting terms in your posts.

please cut the passive aggressive nonsense, state your opinion constructively or STFU.

I am agreed on that monster. This thread wasnt even meant to go on this long.

just a warning to my fellow collectors about a sketchy ebay seller. this thread can lock now since (as usual) someone just cant help but be a contrarian.

Monster, there is nothing to agree or disagree to. I have no quarrel with Sid and, to the best of my knowledge, we are not argueing.

Sid, I have no opinion about you. I don't know you. I didn't accuse you of anything nor did I insult you, passive aggressively or otherwise.

You exposed a potential scamming Ebay seller. I provided background Ebay information on you for comparison's sake to allow people to decide, should they choose to, if you were a credible source or not. That is all.

I did not insult you at all. I did state that I believe that your ebay tactics were similar REI_JIN's when it comes to leaving feedback. I didn't state that passive agressively. I was pretty outright about that. Douchey was the word that I used. If you feel insulted about that, I don't know what to tell you. Its my opinion based on what I read. I'm entitled to it and I won't apologize for it. I never said you were a thief or a scammer or anything of the like. End of story.

Outside of that, I'm not sure what you are looking for me to say. As I've already stated, people here and yourself included can chose to read what I wrote and take it into account or ignore it entirely. I don't have much else to say regarding this matter. If you do, feel free to PM. I welcome furthering the discussion. I'm not sure how it can be furthered at this point but thats your call. Perhaps we can get passed the passive aggressiveness that you are refering to.

I have to admit I like having both sides represented before I make a decision. with juat sid giving us his two cents( no offense sid but I don't know you from adam) it's hard to come to a conclusion. if we could always take everyone at their word the world would be awesome, but ya can't.

sid I have no doubt you truly believe you have been wronged. however your asking us to just trust you on this, with someone else's financial well being possibly at stake.

I guess I'm just not comfortable with one person being judge, jury, and executioner.
