I shipped my POL last Thursday and until now it is still listed as in the warehouse status.

My friend got this e-mail. I was one of the lucky ones that got my pile of loot shipped. I hit the ship my loot button on Thursday July 25th and it arrived on Thursday August 1st. But I guess this means some of the defective stuff I got might take some time to get replaced. My Rhinohorn was missing his horn, lol. Fortunately, my Hexatron was flawless.

Got my shipping notice yesterday afternoon. And it will arrive today! I know WI is next to us but sometimes they are not that fast.

My last name starts with an S. Maybe they are going alphabetically. At any rate, I'm getting antsy. This is by far the most I have ever shipped in a POL before, and there's so much I want to get my hands on, Hexatron being my Excaliber. Well, Metroplex is in there too....

My PoL just arrived and I can not wait to get home and see this amazing figure. It's making thw work day go by a little quicker knowing I get to enjoy this beast in a few hours. The in-hand photos of him look incredible and I can not wait to have him on my shelf.

Well that shoots that idea. I did have a problem last week where there were unusual charges on my card and we had to cancel and wait for a new card. That was right when 2 items hit at BBTS. Maybe when I used my new card I went to the back of the queue.

Finally bit the bullet and purchased this guy. I can't wait to get my shipping confirmation so I can have him in hand. He looks like one of the best figures I've seen in years. Plus it'll be a nice preview for MMC's work with their Feral Rex on the horizon.

Okay, I got my Hexatron today. He is one of the best third party figs I've seen, and I haven't even transformed him into all the modes yet. Here's a couple of early observations:

The chest fins end in sharp points. Seems weird to point it out, but I have a wound in one palm now.

While I obviously support third party figures (I get some nice articulated figs that Has/Tak are not producing at this time) I do start to feel icky with knock-offs, especially when they venture into the counterfeit area where they are being passed off as originals. (I'm not positive, but I think I almost ended up with a KO encore Metroplex.) Now, Hexatron is obviously not a knock off. But, I have to ask, is anybody else bothered by the swords and what appears to be KOing the Drift sword design? I havenm't pulled my Drift off the shelf yet, but I hope to snap some comparison shots and post them. The swords appear to be very, VERY close in design. It bothers me a little.

The hubcap throwing star thingies, while similar in design to Animated Prowl's, are definitely different. So those don't bother me at all.

I'm not thinking of sending my fig back. But I'm not exactly happy about the swords either...

Hexatron's swords are EXTREMELY reminiscent of Drift's sword. It's pretty much an upscaled version, except it's black plastic with silver accents instead of grey with gold accents. Also, the kanji is different, and it's hard plastic instead of child safe, bendy plastic.

Since it's only a small portion of the overall figure, I really don't care. Just thought I'd give some credence to your observations.

Yah, thanks Necro. I don't remember anybody saying it in a review (though I could have missed it with all the other awesomeness to the figure), but I have to say that it surprised me that the sword was so close...

initial releases of the MakeToys Battle tanker also came with a drift sword made of hard plastic instead of rubber to replace the standard sword that came with Drift, it was even able to store on his back in robot mode and under the car in alt mode. very nice looking sword. It also appears that MMC's Nova Prime is shown wielding one as well, in some of the pics.

I'm currently enjoying my Hexatron and have decided that like General Grievous in Star Wars with his Lightsabers, Hexatron took the Swords from fallen heroes as trophies. What i find really cool is that MMC kept them optional and allow the collector to remove the swords and sheaths from the waist and rotate the connectors behind to hide them.

One thing that surprised me coming out of the box was just how massive this guy is. I got Sandstorm in my PoL shipment as well from BBTS and the top of his head comes up to the waist I spoke of earlier. Toyworld's Hegemon comes up to just about the bottom of the chest fins.

I'd really like MMC to tackle Overlord down the line in this scale. Proper alt modes and hopefully a base mode as well for nostalgia.

Personally I don't really like those swords either. I would prefer the one he used in that comic. But like said, they are optional. I don't think mine will use them often.

I'd buy the set if they included the old swords. Not a fan of the Drift swords.

Thanks! I appreciate both the side by side and the translations.

I didn't say that they are the same, but that they are very similar. Sure, the characters are different on the blade and Hex's is longer, but the overall design of the hilt and guard is virtually identical to Drift. I would have liked to see something a little more original in that area than basically copying the Drift sword.

Now, is it enough to get the other swords? Money will probably factor into it more than any queasy feelings I have about the sword design.

Isn't Drift's sword supposed to be from these mythical Cybertronian knights? My guess is that since Hexatron and Nova use similar swords, they want to thy them into that.

Yeah, I can see that. Really, this is a mountain out of a molehill. I'm slightly uncomfortable with how closely the swords match as I guess I expected something different from MMC, but it's not enough to dissuade me from enjoying the figure.

I realized today that the Dazzling Glory kit might be for those people who want their Hexatron to match their Asia Exclusive G1 reissue Sixshot with all the chrome parts. Hmm

At any rate. I hope these swords see the light of day. If there's anything I've learned from Headrobots' Blood: The Dark Warrior kit, it's that every robot needs a chromed-out set of swords.
