Given the 2 options, I like the sculpt on the Voodoo versions better.

As long as Takara doesn't swoop in at the last minute, MP Soundwave style, I could see getting this Ironhide as long as he's not too ridiculous next to Voodoo's Ratchet. I just want there to be some differences between the two for once.

I had that though too (see what I just posted about the MP Rodimus on the other thread).

One of each could work and make an interesting display. :-?

any idea where these measure up compared to iGear's Van Bros?

Comparing one of the Specialists (iGear) to Sideswipe, the TFC version is going to be about a head taller than iGear's and the limbs look a bit more bulky (especially the arms/shoulders).

With an official MP Ironhide just announced (yes, Tokyo Toy Show!), I think I'd only get this figure if I wanted to deal with a more IDW-inspired version. I still like how beefy this one is, and it reminds me more of the Ironhide mini-series from awhile back where he came back from the dead.

iGear: had for years
Voodoo Toys: no longer a second thought
TFC: still a possibility of picking up
DX9: anyone want to fill my stockings this Christmas? He's still adorable.

Any other companies wanna try?

Maybe just maybe TFC will think about speeding up their release schedule in future. The only other product I can remember them teasing was an MP Hound and there are at least 2 other third parties making one.

The market is completely over saturated at this time. So many companies are jumping on the same trend/style and overlapping on characters. How much longer is this going to last?
