Are red optics accurate indicators if the character was/is a'con? Dang Thrust has yellow optics! If that tweet is an indication Cordon was someone else before (a reformed "Barricade"? Cordon is synonymous with Barricade) :-?

I wonder if the reference is just Takara's cheeky way of saying he used to be a Diaclone, now he's a Transformer.

Soundwave's Oblivion took a stab at trying to translate the hard-to-read sample image of Cordon's bio from before, and came up with this (image originally posted by TFW2005 user Sam):

Notice that it does NOT say that he was a former Destron (Decepticon), only that he was convicted as a Cybertron (Autobot).

So he wasn't a Destron and something about his forgotten past made him good at cooking human food. Maybe the "Cordon Bleu" jokes weren't that far off.

I wonder if by chance he's Toaster? He's the only Autobot I can think of with a food-related alt mode.

As red optics no longer an accurate depiction of being a former Destron. It's more of an homage to Diaclone then.

So he was(?) an ex-con but not a 'con. :lol:

Thanks to Twitter user Alfes2010, we have a plethora of new in-hand images of the very soon to be hitting your hands MP-42 Cordon! Cordon is a retooled Masterpiece Sunstreaker with a new cop car themed alternate mode based on the Diaclone version of Sunstreaker, and feature new shin parts, new lights in car mode, and a new toy-accurate head sculpt based on the original Sunstreaker toy!

The new in-hand images give us a great look at Cordon compared to his predecessor, and even show us what happens if you play head swap with the 2!

It's definitely nice, I like the extra details. Given the red optics, he probably likes to play "bad cop" though.

The red eyes are based on those of the Diaclone figure. Though, his online bio did say that he was an Autobot convict who served time for his crime (whatever it was) doing community service on Earth, so he's at least not without a squeaky clean past.
