proper horns would be chrome, so red is even further away from that than the stock "poor man's silver" gray plastic. The original G1 toy's horns were only red for the same reason that SS86 Hot Rod's hinge is bare yellow instead of being painted to match the body.
Also, you go for the mismatched FoC sword on Grimlock when it's pretty easy to get a proper one?
I understand getting a duplicate of Slag's launcher tho, I think only one person has done an SS86 Grimlock launcher and it's hit or miss whether you can even find it.

As has been the case down the decades
Proper is determined by several factors
1. How were you introduced to Transformers? via plastic, TV, Movies or comics (be they US or otherwise)
usually determines the proper for you.
2. Personal preferences
3. Artistic change ups. If you don't like it, you don't have to keep it.
Now, as I was introduced into WORLDS OF CYBERTRON via having been a child during g G1 & having Slag as the Dinobot I received for Christmas that very first time they came to our shores... I have ever known him with RED HORNS. Thusly... he does.
As for the swords, I have a sword that better reflects Slags original style... but I like THIS better.
As to the missle launchers:
It irks me to no end that HasTak keep giving us bots, specifically Dinobots, without the weapons these Dinos need.
A sword
A blaster
A missle launcher
But instead, waste time & plastic on half-assed mannequin mock-ups of Wheelie & Daniel. For virtually the same amount of plastic and crafting, the proper weapons could have been included. Meanwhile, thousands of squating, idiotic, in-action figures are doomed to the landfills and oceans!
