Interesting. That's basically the Michael Moore argument isn't it, that Canada is full of guns yet has proportionally a much smaller gun crime problem, therefore it must be something fundamentally screwed up about US culture that makes it so violent.

sorry to go slightly off the main topic

I sent a reissue Megatron to Australia and this was 2 1/2 months ago, the buyer has not recieved it yet so am I right in assuming that its been siezed by OZ Customs and tell matey to check with them

Possibly. But if the figure has been seized I believe customs has to send a notice to the addressee informing them of what has happened to their package.

If it is just being held up in customs (I have waited 6 weeks for stuff to come from the USA and up to 8 from the UK) they don't have to send a bloody thing.

What state did you ship it to? NSW is the problem state, collectors in other states have had many of their orders go through unchallenged.

I live in Canberra, Australia's capital city and ordered both Takara reissue #6 megatron and MP-05 from overseas at the same time from different sellers. I managed to get the takara reissue no probs, but sadly mp-05 was seized at sydney airport by customs.

i was pretty much ready to give up ever owning MP-05 due to all the loopholes neded to get permit, until i saw this breaking news. Sounds like i may be able to retrieve my Megs just in time before they destroy it.

Has anyone else from these boards had their MP-05 or other megs toy seized?

Like Trunks said, if it's been seized they'd have to send notice.

How did you send it? If it's coming by sea it could take anywhere between 3-6 months to arrive.

If you sent it by air ... it definitely should have arrived by now. Probably wouldn't hurt to check with the Post Office and Customs just in case he's missed any notices.

And am I the only one who finds it odd that darockk lives in the ACT, can readily get XXX porn but can't get a toy gun? :shock:

haha thats right, us Canberran's can get explosive fireworks and uncensored porn...yet can't get a toy gun.

so is anyone in Australia lookin at selling their Mp-05?

one very opportunistic ebay seller is seller them from Melbourne for $450 each.

I told him to #$%& off and told him to think about us real collectors more than his profit margins. didnt get a reply.

im going to melbourne next week, mite pay his shop a visit to see if he's selling it under the counter.

I can already get porn at the local adult shop that's been classified by the OFLC anyway.

. Im scared when I order dvds from overseas that Customs are gonna take em and they aren't even bad ones. If the OFLC was to rate them they would get PG at the most.

soundwavegt: Your government can be touchy with some films. Video nasties anyone? Some of them are actually released here and uncut after being banned for years. While you guys have the cut versions.

okay, I've never been to Japan, but from what I heard, possession of any fire arm is a big NO NO there, yet having toys like G1 or MP Megs seems to be hassle free as we know. The way I see it, everyone is happy, which seems to be the way to go.
