Hmm, no, I never noticed.

I guess the reprolabels upgrade sticker set makes sense then. ;-)

WOW! Did anybody not know this?

He has no head because he was a Microman Mech. He was Piloted by tiny figures. Hasbro just used the Mold for their character, but never bothered to give him a head, only a sticker, with eyes.

As for Giving him a head, I'm sure someone has given him a head at some point somewhere.

Just saw a botcon exclusive version, much better. Hope that if they make a classics Ironhide, it will be good.

Hasbro said that it's a definite possibility.

Hey, take it easy on the guy, it may be his first time seeing the real G1 Ironhide, or the first time in years depending on how old he is.

But yeah, there was actually a comic strip done with Ironhide headless, it was funny.

HASBRO needs to make an Ironhide and Ratchet the way DonFig draws them, oh so awesome.

And Nova and Sentinel Prime while they're at it.

Yeah he has no head, but remember the Cartoon was made around the existing toys not the other way around. So give these molds a break.

Wow. I just had to double check that this wasn't a thread from 1984 that had been resurrected.

Postby Malikon » Thu Nov 08, 2007 3:05 pm

yup, no head.

I do however wish that with all the repaints going on, I wish they'd do movie Ironhide in his original colors. I'd love to see how that would look. If I can find another one I may repaint him myself.

Why they chose blue with mud over a repaint of the original I can't imagine. They did Jazz, Starscream, Thundercracker, Ratchet and Prime in original colors. Ironhide in red seems like a no brainer.

*sigh*

are you trying to make the poor guy feel dumb?

So he didn't know and we did. Whoop de doo. I'm sure he'll feel so comfortable making a post in the future, and in the future it might be something you actually didn't know.

Ok, tell me to read his post as anything other than a pretty daft question. Does he seriously think no one in 20+ years had noticed Ironhide's lack of a head? Or is he suffering from the common internet ailment of not having a filter between random brain farts and his keyboard?

the slots in the panels of the legs when they fold up in car mode is where the gins go. there is red roofing on the cannons so it looks like a minivan

There's a filter?? Anyway, I'm hoping the OP is new to the TFers and simply noticing something that is odd about a well known character.

If not <shrugs>...who cares. Welcome to the site. Speak your mind whenever you like.

I know there was talk of a "clip- on" set of custom heads for Ironhide and Ratchet, a fan made some time back. Anyone got pics of this?

If you think about it, Hasbro screwed up by not demanding the cartoon Ironhide and Ratchet look more like the toys.

The tank sled really adds some punch to them but kids stayed away because they didn't look like the cartoon.
