I'm not a huge fan of the Starscream mould, but I like the metallic silver finish. The Platinum line might just be one of the best ideas they've had to sell repaints.

Like a lot of people in this thread, I was very hesitant when I first heard about the metallic repaints. Then I saw the Best Buy exclusives and was blown away by how much better they looked.
I have a feeling I will be getting this one as well as any other metallic reapints.
Thank goodness all my movie toys are still misb so that I can get my money back on them, as I do agree witht he general consensus. I do not need ultiples of a crappy mold. Just one with a really nice metallic paintjob is good enough.

Actually he'd be a highly advanced living robot from another planet that can travel through space...

I'm not a big fan of the mold, but this paint job goes a loooong way to making it a better figure.
If I didn't already have him, I'd be getting this one. If I see it, and it is that much better, I *may* upgrade.

Not bad at all. But I kinda hope that they will release the other Seekers as Movie figures as well, because although Ebay has all of the Games of Deception lot as single figures and in the set, most of them are expensive.
Will take this point up again in the Toys forum.

Maybe it's just the picture, but it looks to me to be mostly just grey with a few silvery bits here and there, which is pretty cheap. If it was properly silvered all over I'd be more tempted.
I'd also want to know whether they've fixed the droopy right arm problem that plagued the original. Di it get fixed on the g1 redeco and thundercracker?

i think it would look better in mostly gray with silver robot parts. If i was in the airforce and i was walking down a line of f-22's i would think that a silver one would catch my eye and make me go hmmmmm? something is not right here. Silver in robot mode makes since but keep the jet parts two shades of gray.

Yeah, but to me it is cheap to call something a 'metallic' version when it in mostly dull grey. If it was marketed as 'dull grey plastic version' then fair enough.

Looks amazing. I will surely snatch this guy if I ever see him. Then I'll pass my SS down to my son.

I have the original, so I might not get this one. Does anyone know if there are anymore of these Metallic paint figures coming out in 2008?

As a fan of both Starscream and the metallic repaints, I will be on the lookout for this.

Is this really more accurate to the film?
I know the 3-d rendering of Starscream is in grey, but I thought he actually was tan colored during the film.

he was tan and in some spots I thought he was grey. I'd have to watch his scenes again...all two or three of them.

Right? Best TF character of all time, reduced to 6 seconds of screen time. Just like Jazz, tremendously popular within the fandom, 6 seconds on screen. Now watch, someone will time the appearences of both characters and post it just to shoot me down and retell again their belief that Transformers is the new Citizen Kane, and that disagreeing with that in any way is akin to blasphemy.

I'm pretty sure it was metalic.
That was the whole point right?
or was it just a lighter coloring?
