Postby Autobot Snake Eyes » Thu Nov 15, 2007 8:22 pm

are the classics even being made anymore?
i always really liked the cool redesigns for the classics toys. especially megatron. i was thinking that new sky lynx toy would fit in with the classics but is it official?

Takara will be releasing the Classics lineup with anime-accurate recolors...but i doubt if Hasbro will continue making this line anymore, with Allspark and Animated on the horizon. it was meant to be a filler line anyway.

As far as I know they are continuing the line under the Universe name.I've seen some prototypes of the next wave that include Octane and Sideswipe.

As far as I know yes but he will be in the size class of Classic's Jetfire and Optimus not of Classic's Astrotrain.

Weapon: Sniper Rifle
And by the by, the Sky Lynx confirmed to be coming out in '08 is not a Classics version or meant to go with that line--it's a reissue of the G1 original Sky Lynx, motorized parts and all. Pre-order now!

Well, if you're lucky, you'll find some lingering in
Wal-Mart clearance aisles. I got deluxes for 3 bucks and voyagers for 10. But, the stocks are going dry.

When they mentioned Galvatron for the Universe line, didn't the also mention an Ultra Magnus, saying both would be original molds, not redecos?

Also, if you are hungry for Classics, of the current movie line I've picked up the following and added them to my "Classics" shelf.

Classic Chromia - Target Movie Scout Arcee.
Classic Jazz - Target Movie Deluxe Jazz Redeco.
Classic Brawn - Target Movie Scout Strongarm
Classic Trailbreaker - Movie Voyager Ironhide with Reprolabels.
Classic Road Ranger - Target Movie Scout Armorhide.
Arcee - Target Movie Scout Elita One

They said that they would give Galvatron and Ultra Magnus there own moulds in the future, but didn't confirm them for classics.

And since Ultra Magnus is confirmed to be in animated, I would say that he is out.

leaving just Galvatron who could come out next year for classics, since they said they won't be making the same figure for two lines at the same time.

Yes, but they did mention a NEW MOLD one as well. After all, there are 2 classic toys for Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee and Jetfire already. Why not Ultra Magnus?

With looks of the animated and classics line, why wouldn't they make the same figure for both? Some of the same characters have been out in different line at the same time before.

They did mention a new mold for Ultra Magnus but they didnt say witch line he would be a part of.

They said they wouldnt be releaseing different versions of the same character so that the animated toy line could stand out on its owen....at least for a while.
