since Hasbro has Abandoned the project, would it now make sense for a reverse mold of this guy to be created and used to provide KO's of him and a remolded head for a Ratchet Alternator as well??

I'm all for official merchandise, but when that Merchandise dries up, then what do you do??

looks like the prototypes of alternator Skids if you ask me...age of those newsitems confirms it too IMO.

No. Just because they were vans in the 80's, I don't think that tiny little Scion mold suits Ironhide at all since it's no bigger than an average sports car. Seriously, I see them all the time and am always surprise at how small they really are. Plus I don't want to see Skids & Ironhide share a mold design. And as for Ratchet, no way. Making a Scion into an ambulance would make as much sense as turning a Honda Civic into one.

Where an Alt version of Ironhide is concerned, I happen to think the design for Alt Prime would be perfect to use since it A) has more mass which Ironhide should have, and B) is a nice acceptable update from 1984 to 2007. Same goes for using Alt Nemesis Prime for Trailbreaker.

Ratchet, unfortunately, doesn't really have any good options based on the current molds available. I've seen people use the Scion and Jeep molds to make customs of him, but none of them look right no matter how well they're done. If Hasbro/Takara made just one SUV mold, that would have been perfect since he could have been updated to be an EMS vehicle instead of an ambulance.

Even if an official or KO version of Alt Ironhide was released using the Scion mold, I probably still wouldn't buy it since the customs using Alt Prime's mold (and Skids' head) look FAR better in terms of size & aesthetic.
