I've wanted this for such a long time and have finally decided for it to be the next transformer I seek.

I have been working on ebay for one, and I was bidding on scourge, but something weird happened last night in the last few minutes and I couldn't raise my maximum bid. Just from searching on ebay, it looks like Black Convoy is a lot easier to get a hold of.

I'm honestly not sure if I want Black Convoy or not. It sounds really bad but it's because he doesn't have any decepticon symbols, just those weird upside down autobot ones. He also has autobot symbols on his discs, from what I understand. I want to display him with the rest of my decepticons and I'm not sure how it would all look. I was thinking about buying a decpticon mirror logo sticker sheet to add ones to each door like the american TRU exclusive release has... but I don't know... thoughts?? hahaha.

I own black convey and I have to say I like him better because of the lack of decepticon symbols on his doors it makes him look more like a robot in disguse than if had the two huge decepticon symbols. Also the upside autobot symbols give character plus it describes his back story perfectly he is a autobot protoform that megatron hijacked and during the scaning process he scaned optimus prime and tanker truck so the upside down autobot symbol represent his former allegience.

This is the curse of a transformer collector. Shown to a nonfan, they would probably never notice the difference. But to a collector, things like this start to become more and more important.

I have the Takara version with the upside down autobot symbols and trust me, he does not look like an autobot.
I like figures with allegiance issues like doubledealer though so it is a matter of taste. A hijacked autobot protoform is a great backstory, and with the 'bot symbols still intact but reversed.. well thats just cool.

I actually think the reversed autobot symbol is quite menacing on Scourge. Moreso than the 'con badge.
I still refer to mine as scourge regardless.

My vote is for the Takara version, if it is easier to get MISB.

Thanks you guys! I think I'll go for it then. You're right, the upside down autobot symbol DOES give it a character, and if I get hung up on it, I can get a rub logo from reprolabels.

Black Battle Convoy all the way. I actually got him because they weren't supposed to make Scourge for America and I thought it was too cool to pass up (meaning I spent more to get him than I did to get Brave Maximus the same week!) A few months later, there he is in TRU. So I had them both and Black Convoy was just cooler. From the show accurate upside down G2 Autobot symbols to the sword and eye colors (they're pink not red) he was simply superior. So I gave Scourge to my friend Froy.

if i had to do it all over again.. i'd buy the takara version of almost every toy from every line i could. better paint, and really not much of a price difference (like i said, if i could do it over again and buy toys at the times they came out)
nowadays.. i'll look for the takara versions of older lines, and some from upcomming. takara classics is pure example of that

Yeah, I just got it on eBay for 34 plus shipping and handling, it retailed as a TRU exclusive for 30 right?
