well, some sad news i found today.

a little while ago, metallic ratchet (best buy exclusice sticker and all) went up on hasbrotoyshop.com as coming soon. i wanted one of these sooooo bad, so i would check on it EVERY day hoping that this would be the day it would be in stock.

so i go to check on it right now and...

its gone!

just disappeared!

i guess i'm gonna have to get the regular ratchet. i remember seeing it in the stores and hating the ugly green color. is it really that bad in robot mode too? if not, well then... maybe i'll throw out 50$ at BBTS for a metallic one.

oh well.

im so disappointed.

Are you talking about voyager movie ratchet? If so, I've played with a friend's one a few times and I don't like it at all. Dull transformation, rubbish automorph, goofy looking robot, not very poseable, nasty colour, bits drop off if you so much as look at them. Horrible.

It's not too bad, but I only pose mine. Transformation is simple compared to the rest if you like that. I wouldn't pay $50 for it though. You can still sometimes find him going for $30 on ebay and on other transformers forusm (TFW2005, allspark).

FYI, there's not much difference between the greens. The metallic green is nice but not on the scale of the metallic megatron (who's still crap).

I thought it was a good purchase, and still do, but you might want to get Rescue ratchet instead, much better colors.

The mold in general is lacking in movie accurate weapons so that's a downside but I don't think the general release is as bad as people say. Sure it's not as swish as the shiny version but it's a sturdy, chunky toy with surprising posability and a simple yet unique transformation.

That said, I wish I'd got Rescue Ratchet for the G1 nod.

I agree, Res. Ratchet is better based on colors (I have both), but overall Ratchet's a very solid, well built toy.

I think the green throws people off too much. Especially if you've seen the new G1 Ratchet with the movie colors. That looks worse.
