Nope no such rumor. I don't think they will make a Skids in Univ. He was not fetured in the cartoon, does not share a mold with anyone, etc, etc. Ya never know though.

He did have an awesome Binaltech mold. I only have him as an alternator but it's one of my favorites for BT/Alt.

It would be pushing it but would be a way to save money on another mold. That may be a reasoning to actually do a third variant of this mold. But I think I'm with you on this one, I doubt they'd make anything with him for a while. though it'd be cool if they did.

actually skids did make a few appearances in G1 season 2! personally i think this mold would make a great trailbreaker repaint!
