Linkin Park releases details of upcoming ROTF song
According to band fansite The Linkin Park Times, Linkin Park has revealed the title and information regarding their new song for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The song, titled “New Divide”, will debut on the radio and for download via iTunes on May 18. It will also be included on the ROTF soundtrack being released on June 23rd.
Regarding the song, singer Mike Shinoda is quoted as saying:
"The opportunity to be creatively involved with one of the most anticipated films of the summer is pretty exciting. It's one thing to shoot a video that matches sound and vision, but making music that's built for the big screen is a completely different challenge and we ran with it."

I'm glad to see these guys are involved with the soundtrack again. Their song fromthe first movie was good. I have seen these guys live. Their stuff on the radio and on the albums doesn't even touch how good they are live. Great band to see in person.

If only Avenged Sevenfold had "Almost Easy" ready for the first movie, they probably would be making a new fong for Revenge of the Fallen.
Oh well Linkin Park is still awesome

I grew up listening to "old school" rock but when these guys hit the scene I was all over it.
I loved their contribuution to the first film and was ecstatic when I heard they would be working on the ROTF soundtrack. Now I'm going to have to make 2 purchases on the 23/24th. Tickets AND a CD. Hell, it's money well spent.

Re: Linkin Park releases details of upcoming ROTF song
So does this mean we'll be hearing their new song at least three times again in this movie like they did with the last one?
I have nothing against this band, used to listen to them religiously and buy their new discs on the release date when I was in high school, but I'm just getting burned out on the same bands' music being used again and again, there should be a different band for every movie soundtrack to keep things fresh. Next, we'll get the track listings for the soundtrack and see its basically in the same order as the current one..
EDIT: I just caught this, I thought Chester was the lead singer and Mike was just the emcee? Am I missing something?

They split singing duties depending on the song. Sometimes they switch on and off during songs.

Fantastic. I like how their song on the last soundtrack 'What I've Done' was played along with the ending (which was fantastic).

I'm thinking the FIRST song heard in the trailer is from them, before it shows sam with the "mental meltdown". Here's the trailer for examination:

I liked it so much I set it as the ringtone on my phone. Figured it went well with the Autobot Logo wallpaper I had.

They're both listed on the band's website as vocalists, even though Mike does more rhyming than anything else. It was a toss up for me.
