Didn't Milton Bradley buy out Wizards of the Coast?
Any word on the mechanics involved?
In my designs, I always had a hard time finding the appropriate mechanic to simulate 'transforming'.

There's the official website about them. Apparently you build 3D characters out of plastic punch out pieces and you fight them. Bizzare if you ask me...

They're two different games. The one at KB Toys is an all-inclusive one-on-one family battle card game, while the Wizards game is a collectible card game. I don't know the specifics, but they are different products.

Actually, I believe that Hasbro now owns WOC, and possibly MB too...

Yes. Hasbro owns both MB and WotC.
The two games are marketed towards different age groups.
This game is little more than WAR with TF images and is geared toward 6 year olds. (Although MY 6 year old is already deep into YuGiOh.)
The 3D game is geared more towards an older crowd such as collectors.

The 3-D game reminds me of the Pirates game that's out, where you assemble the ships and such. Nice touch with them transforming.
What's interesting is, checking out the line-up of characters. Some, like Smokescreen, are pretty obviously based on pre-existing stuff, but I'm curious if some of this might be a peek at what we might see down the line. Mirage looks quite a bit like his alt form, but I wouldn't mind seeing those designs worked out a little more into actual figures.
