Windsweeper wrote:Just a pity it's not set in the Marvel universe. Preferred the Marvel incarnations of Jhiaxus and Thunderwing. To me, Thunderwing's affinity for the Matrix was what made him interesting, along with his concern for his troops. It also set him apart from the other Decepticon leaders.

Bumblevivisector wrote:Awesome! This is probably the best B&W Mosaic I've read, partly because it evoked the feel of the downsized Marvel UK book before Earth Force kicked in, which included the first stories involving Thunderwing. Other Mosaics could benefit from that association, as the challenge of cramming a story into one page is reminiscent of Furman having to cram one into 5 pages (correct #?).
Also interesting that the two characters used here were both defined entirely by Furman in G1-2 as badass Decepticon leaders, only to be transformed by said same Simon into scientists for the IDWverse. While somewhat necessary, I thought it felt contrived at the time, yet showing them parallel here as one sends the other down the road to becoming an uncontrollable menace somehow makes it all seem smoother. Thunderwing still seems like his same troubled self despite lacking his Matrix obsession, and that takes talent.
Looking forward to more!
