Starscream has arrived and he is pretty darn good! I'm not a fan of the original Classics Seeker hating the way the wings had to fold down every time you wanted to pose the arms in fashion. This guy is a good size with chunky solid joints and a nice aesthetic bringing the game character to life in accurate fashion.
Jet mode is quite a simple deal but does the job well, the gattling guns can be mounted underneath the wing giving him a mass of fire power, they even have rotating barrels. In robot mode you get some really nice articulated arms and legs but he is sadly missing a waist swivel. The guns can either be hand held or mounted on the rear of the forearm, they can also be combined to form a massive dual cannon which can be held simultaneously in both hands, they do look a little bland when split in half due to the molded inside section but its a minor gripe.
Starscream fits in with the FOC line extremely well and could even make the jump to your Classics / Generations collection as IDW Starscream ( if your not a stickler for accuracy that is )
Overall we score this newest rendition of a fan fave 9/10 awesome sauce.
Sideswipe is the repaint of Wave 1 Jazz and appears to knock spots off his predecessor. Coming with a remolded head, bonnet and uber massive gun Sideswipe is fun to play with if simple to transform. The new paint job seems to add the detail missing from poor Jazz who was just too bland due to all the white plastic. His new head is also more in proportion and a very good representation of the G1 fave.
Articulation wise Sideswipe is adequate, he his arms are good with a nice range of motion, the legs are okay being limited by the way they are molded so as to tuck away in car mode, he also lacks a waist swivel. The weapon is a welcome addition to the figure and as already stated huge, it doesn't do much other than have the barrel extend and retract with a tug or a push, it can be mounted on his sides in vehicle mode or be hand or forearm mounted in robot mode.
A nice repaint of a previously poor figure that scores 7/10
First off sorry for the pics, we've yet to get a good dark back drop so some of these are quite washed out, on to the figure! Ultra Magnus is a repaint of the Wave 1 Deluxe Optimus Prime figure and comes with an additional weapon in the form a 3 piece sword which can be held in hand or connected to the existing gun to form a gun blade style weapon which is huge!
There isn't much new about the figure itself apart from a new head and paint job which seems to work really well in depicting Magnus, he just looks the part with the way the sections separate between blue and white with my only complaint being the white is extremely bright and can look a little cheap. The articulation and transformation are really nice making him capable of a range of poses. The sword can also be carried on his back making him look extra cool whilst holding his rifle and mounted on the side of him whilst in vehicle mode so he can joust with the Knights of Cybertron ???
For a repaint Magnus is pretty darn good so we're scoring him 8/10

Yeah, that's all very old news.sgahbao wrote:Additional photos

Now this guy is definitely the star of the show along with Starscream. The only other brand new mold in Wave 3 is one of the Dinobots main foes from the FOC video game. He comes with a massive weapon in the form of an energon crossbow which which shoots the disc via a grey switch on top, the purple blades can be detached to become either handheld blades or part of Kickbacks alt mode.
Articulation is very good, the arms have a lot of swivel and ball joints in them and the legs the same, he has no waist swivel but does have ball jointed ankles allowing a lot of cool stances. The panels on his chest and shoulders can get in the way if I'm honest but its not enough to annoy, his forearms can be slid up or down to form blades and as you can see from the pics he looks really good either way.
Alt mode was looking a but bland from the stock images but once in hand its actually really big and hold together well, he even has a bug shell formed by the arms which I myself wasn't aware of before having it in hand.
Kickback is nice addition to the line, he does look like he belongs in the Prime universe slightly more than the FOC one but thats not a bad thing.
Overall Kickback scores 9/10
Fall of Cybertron Fireflight
The Wave 3 repaint of Shockwave comes with a brand new chest, colours, weapons and head. Having had a name change to Air Raid along the way this guy seems to make a much better usage of the cybertronian ship alt mode than Shockwave did who suffered from complaints he was too small, Air Raid however does not share this fate as there is nothing to measure him against other than than the existing G1 toy which is tiny.
Most of you will know what to expect of the articulation on this guy, it does the job and does it well, only gripe is no waist swivel. Weapon wise he comes with a modification of Shockwaves 3 pronged cannon minus a prong this forms the base of the huge sword if you can be bothered to make it out of all 3 sections, we tried but in total honesty it didn't stay together well and looked kind of pants, they do however all stand on their own very well, the small sword being of particular awesomeness. You can mount the gun on Air Raids arms with the fist introverted or simply in his hand, the swords can be hand held only. Both the gun and large sword can be stored on Air Raids back.
Overall this is a good use of an existing mold, the weapons, head and chest have changed it enough to warrant a purchase for hardcore fans or those who do not own Shockwave, we score Air Raid - 8/10
