The Toys'R'Us website has the two next upcoming figures in the Platinum Edition series ready for preorder. Both Year of the Horse special redecoed figures, MP-10 Optimus Prime ($129.99) and Cybertron Starscream ($109.99) should be available 4th March 2014. Will you be getting these? Preordered the prime. =D I wonder if it'll be cheaper at BBTS.. hmmm... and theres tax.. Might cancel once BBTS put their preorder up. I wonder if they'll still wait till Feb/2014 now that TRU put their preorders up early.

Thanks for the heads up guys. The ship date on tru.com for both items shows March 4th, not April 3rd. A flipflop of 3/4 vs 4/3.


Edit: Assuming they are using US date format.


I'm considering the Prime because I missed MP-10, but that gold has not grown on me enough yet.

Yeah, pretty sure it is US format, just to confuse my European self.

I don't recall the original release of that Starscream selling for that price. He was like $50, if I remember correctly. Where does TRU get the balls to ask double that for this release? It's nowhere near MP quality and it's not that great of a toy.

Absolutely correct on the original price and the refinement of the paint job does not bring it anywhere close to being worth more than $60.00 AT MOST in my opinion. Of course, I got my original version on clearance for $25.00 so my opinion may be a bit lopsided. I have to admit that this version does look way better (more G1 for those of us who are into that look) but the price they are asking is still obscene.

As for the gold apps on Optimus... ewwww.
(again, just my opinion. I know there are a few of you who may like it so by all means, have at it)

Okay, I've been keeping my mouth closed for a while, but can't anymore, YotH OP looks fUgly as hell, & Starscream needs far more paint applications/details than what has been applied.

Magnus is cool, & so is Omega', but these two are really not, not to me they aren't.

It's Toys "R" Us; it's their specialty, raising the price on exclusive redecos.

My TFsource pre-order ((which was $164) was just magically "received in stock", a mere hours after realizing that TRU will have the same figure for $35 less. How ironic.... I guess they are shipping out already if you happen to overpay to a 3rd party....

I doubt TFsource will price match, they sourced their stock early from Asia, which is more costly for them hence their price. But you might as well try to cancel your preorder if you don't mind getting it at a later date.

I cannot pre-order anything (no credit card) but when it will come out, I WILL buy that Starscream.

Before that, it will be Metroplex, of course.

I think I shall get Bling Bling Prime. I got the original Supreme Starscream at a garage sale with crown for $5. Can't remember if he was missing anything else at the moment.

Same. I'm at least getting him, since my local Toys "R" Us were dicks and never even stocked the original release once. Had plenty of Thundercrackers (which I unfortunately had to miss out as well), but no Optimus Primes.

I really like King Starscream here, but I already have the original Cybertron toy. Butchered, and crownless, but I already own it, so it's not quite a priority (THIS JUST IN: Mindmaster not making an upcoming Starscream toy a priority?! )
