I saw Topspin and the rest of TR wave 4 a couple times, never saw wave 5. I got legends Twintwist and Topspin this year, and it is a strange story, I paid way less than you would think for both.

That's too bad, I was hoping it would be the HM Juniors, or at least some of them. Hosehead/Cab only one that's tough to think of a mold for. I'd always suspected the Monsterbots to be pre-tools of Fangry and Squeezeplay at least, but nope, not yet.

Cool for those that missed them though, and the retro packaging could be really fun.

Although, there will be the less savvy consumers no doubt thinking these are the same as the original toys ( like the other reissues) and be disappointed. Seems a little deceptive to me.

Eh, they've been doing the same kind of retro packaging thing with Marvel Legends and Star Wars: The Black Series for a few years and there hasn't been an occurence like that, I think this'll be fine.

Mine would! As I start to wind down on collecting Generations, I often think about what would I go after? And the answer is always G1 Headmasters. The few I had as a kid live in my brother's collection. A part of me would prefer to have original toys, but I bet I could be easily coerced into some reissues. Especially at half the price of the going rate for the OG toys.

Because of TR, I bought amont their TR counterparts: G1 Skullcrunsher, Mindwipe, Weirdwolf, Brainstorm, Hardhead, Highbrow, and Chromedome. All for around 140$CAN with taxes, shipping, and whatnots.

So if Walmart would reissue them, for the size they are I guess they would still be 100$ toys, based on how the other reissues went for. My mind would say "good" so that more people could share the G1 love, but my collector heart would be a bit miffled.

If they want to release the TR mold again, i hope they at least modify the feet to have ankle tilt, just so it can have the same level of articulation with the rest of the figure on this toyline. I know, just a wishful thinking, most likely not gonna happen. But still.

I based the 7 off of this line from the article:

The toys getting reissued in such a way is the characters who were Headmasters originally like Chromedome or Mindwipe.

I wouldn't be against another shot at the Jumpstarters and Windblade (I already got the Legends versions so I don't absolutely need them), but according to the leak that's not happening here.

I was lucky enough to find every one of the TR figures the 1st time around, so unless there's a major change in design (like the aforementioned ankle tilt) I'll pass on these. I wonder if their release will have an effect on the prices of the originals on the 2ndary market. I'm preparing to put my TR figures up for sale.

This is certainly interesting, I used to have Deluxe Hardhead, Skullsmasher, Mindwipe and Wolfwire, but sold them all off as I was downsizing my collection. It would certainly be nice to have them again, not to mention I missed out on Brainstorm, Highbrow and Chromedome the first time around, but once I have everything I'm wanting from Earthrise and Kingdom, I'll need to think about whether or not my collection will still have a place for Headmasters.

I just thought of something.... Wasn't the reason Hasbro started packaging the toys in Robot mode for the most part so they could have more toys in less shelf space at retail? Also if they are going to reproduce original series packaging, that's going to require a lot more plastic, which I thought they were eliminating for 2021? something doesn't make sense here... :-?

It's more to have the toys stand out among model cars I think. Makes shoplifting harder to pull off too.

??? Toy swapping is bad now, it's going to be way worse when you can't see what's inside. I bought both CC at retail, and believe me, I was nervous each time. I wasn't worried with Scorponok simply because it came straight from the stockroom and was never on the shelf.

For some reasons, I can't find the pictures on Google. Dunno if it was faked or legit, but I saw a Bumblebee packaging with a literal BEEHIVE in it.
Another of the same kind was an Ironhide packaging with oranges in it. :HEADHURTS:

I once bought purposefully a toyswap once, in hope that the swapped toy was better than the original one. Unfortunately, it was garbage. I successfully returned it, stating clearly to the girl what was the situation.

However, I was guilty of doing a toy swapping myself. My friend bought the Unite Warrios Menasor set. For some reasons, he ham-handed his Motormaster and snapped him clear in half at the waist. CW toys were still sold in store and CW Motormaster was like a plague on the shelves. So he bought one. We then swapped the UW wheels to give the CW one. The we put the UW one in the CW packaging. Then we returned it. When returning the broken Unite Warriors Motormaster in Combiner Wars packaging for refund, we clearly stated that the toy was deffective and broken. We stressed the fact the toy should be returned to the manifacturer and should NOT be put back on the shelves.
That's the only time we ever did a toy-swap. It was also basically the same toy. It was still wrong to do so when I think about it because I could have put any random crap inside the box because as we can see on the Wiki page, store clerks usually don't give a crap.

We got boxed pics, but they got posted in another thread. I wonder why they went with the assortment they did. The Autobots I get but why Mindwipe of the three Decepticons? Seeing Brainstorm again reminds me of just how many uses that mold got, and how many times I bought Brainstorm.

Wasn't TR Mindwipe a little harder to find than the other two? I remember seeing tons of Skullsmashers and Weirdwolfs pegwarming all throughout the line, but not so much with Mindwipe.

I had so much Mindwipes in my area, I almost called the exterminator for a bat infestation.
