If you can find the old thread, I may be able to recover the pictures. I know how to retrieve old Photobucket pics, so long as they were posted as embeds.-Kanrabat- wrote:ZeroWolf wrote:-Kanrabat- wrote:ZeroWolf wrote:AcademyofDrX wrote:The best argument I've seen so far is that a new shuttle bot mold could do double duty for Galaxy Shuttle and Armada Jetfire, but I'm not sure there's enough variety between those or demand to justify two decoes out of that.
I'm guessing the decision here was less "how can we release Galaxy Shuttle" and more "what's another good leader class repaint. These region-exclusive characters are logical choices for that.
Of course personally I would've rather seen Stalker or other redecoes from Double Dealer, but that's a whole other thing.
Stalker, machine Wars Soundwave, Cybertron Defence Red Alert...that Double Dealer mold had a lot of redeco options really. Though all would have had the bird mode shoved in
Long ago I did a DD custom based on Cybertron Defence Red Alert. Of course the pictures died along Photobucket and I'd need make new pictures and a new thread to show it. I pulled off a convincing bird mode with some misstransformation and extra custom accessories.
Did you share those pictures on here ever? I seem to recall seeing something like that.
Oh yeah, but it's been years since I did. The original thread is buried, and the pictures are lost. If I can find the old pictures, I could create a new thread. If not, I'll have to start over from scratch. I still have my custom on hand at least.
I can confirm the old pictures are lost forever, died along my previous computer.
I can create a new thread in the Transtopia forum with new pictures if anyone want to see it.

Oh?
Let's start digging then. Good thing I remember the keywords.

If you can't recover the pictures, I'll just have to take brand new ones.

Sabrblade wrote:Yeah, nobody cares enough about Galaxy Shuttle for him to get his own mold. He was pretty much a nobody even in the cartoon that featured him. Just a glorified space bus more than anything.
Some time later, Galaxy Shuttle gets restored to life, as he is shown in one chapter of the Legends manga teaming up with Grandus, Sky Garry, and Metrobase to both protect some Micromasters from, and get his revenge on, Metrotitan (on Page 6).o.supreme wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Yeah, nobody cares enough about Galaxy Shuttle for him to get his own mold. Yeah this was tough realization to come to. I have always gone to bat for Large Transformers and Combiners, and GS definitely let me down. Also am a big fan of Japanese continuity. GS was a Giant that was little more than an AI. In Victory, He one shot at fighting another Giant and got owned by LioKaiser pretty handily. Then thanks to Viz Manga, I finally got to see his unceremonious demise at the hand of Metrotitan in the Zone story pages.
Still despite all this, I'm glad we are getting a version of GS.

These are some fun notes. I have been trying to post a news story, but I keep getting a 503 error when I try to post it, and can't figure out what is causing the problem, since even removing all the links and quotes doesn't solve it, though I can still post elsewhere.
There is a story coming irregardless! Just gotta troubleshoot!

I've had that error a bunch of times, it's almost always due to a photo extension the forum doesn't like.

It's those Instagram emoticons. This site doesn't like them. Get rid of those and it should be fine.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Emerje wrote:D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Mark Maher posted some design notes for Galaxy Shuttle.

Problem is, even removing all the images and links, it won't let me post the story, it's super odd

I found that out the hard way about that when trying to post some text from a Facebook announcement that also used those same kind of emoticons. They kept crashing this site until I got rid of them.
Welcome Velocitron Speedia 500’s Leader GALAXY SHUTTLE. Now I know what some of you are going to say, he should be alot larger as he appears on the Transformers animated Victory series. The G1 toy did have a third mode but it wasn’t a sweet choochoo train. Well all aboard the crazy train because when I found this alt head in the mold from Siege Astrotrain I started spinning in my computer chair yellin “Wooooo”!!! Full blown Ric Flair strutting around my room!!
One of my favorite things when I was a Master Model Artist for Transformers was when I recieved the first shot of the grey model prototypes shipped in. Most of the time, the extra alt head came in a seperate small baggy unidentified. I used to try and guess what character it was going to become and it soon turned into my favorite lil game!
So, I didn’t get to work on this design for Astrotrain, but I have a special love for the bot, especially the G1 white version of the toy, def one of my favs as a wee young lad. As I was searching through the mold I stumbled on these images of Galaxies unused head sculpt and I just couldn’t resist.
So, I did screw on Astrotrain’s head just to take a gander, might have to get back on my custom game and do up a special one for the shelf.
Now I know some of yall didn’t get to buy this stylish dude, sold out on the Pulse real quick. I don’t have the info on anymore stock or release info either, so hang in there I unfortunately don’t know who from TT designed this awesome figure either. Sorry! They did a fantastic job though, because this toy rules! Lots of fun! I do wonder if the designer that drew the sculpt for the launch pad realized it could be painted as a duel purpose helicopter pad
Well this dude was a blast…off! (oof dad joke)

Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.

That's really strange yes. Not sure what they are trying to hide.

I would have no problem with a Commander Astrotrain in Legacy if he was a proper triplechanger with all 3 modes correct and no unnecessary crap like the caboose/launch pad.ZeroWolf wrote:D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Overcracker wrote:ZeroWolf wrote:Is it just a weird thing with the photos where it blurs Galaxy Shuttle chest?

Ah that makes sense, thanks D-Max. Personally this is a buy for me as I didn't really have any problems with Astro (I think to really go all in with Astro, you need him at a bigger price point, but would people really by happy with Commander class astro if they were still constrained to g1 bot scale?)
Maybe it's time let astro be the giant bot he should have been ij the cartoon...like he is in IDW ver 2.0 and cyberverse.
