Or is it the same expectation with Galaxy Shuttle despite the obvious difference in their profiles?Jelze Bunnycat wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:Isn't Astrotrain a more well-known character though?
Yeah, and that's where it actually works against: he's more likely to get new releases.
Obscure Japanese Character 1, well-known Character 0.
Of course, if Astrotrain had been done right to begin with, maybe the inaccurate Galaxy Shuttle also would have been accepted more easily.
I'm not sure I follow, this inaccurate Galaxy Shuttle is being accepted with open arms, based on that crazy mark up.

Take it up with Thew. It was his idea.-Kanrabat- wrote:Sabrblade wrote:And, speaking of Galaxy Shuttle, while some have compared his head to that of Jazz, watching one of Thew's videos has directed me to another's head that his resembles: Quickshadow.
You have to take a few shots and squint really, really hard to see any resemblances.

So you think GS being an obscure character to begin with and not having any new figures in 30 years had little to no impact on his sales? And it might be a stretch, but his deco also lends the character to be toy-accurate Astrotrain as well. That might have been a factor for some sales, however minor.william-james88 wrote:Which leads me to think that people probably didn't hate the astrotrain mold after all

IMO you can't dismiss shipping cost when it's $20+. You can't say "It's the shipping, it doesn't count" when it's that much, that's a significant bump in the amount you have to spend.william-james88 wrote:D-Maximal_Primal wrote:william-james88 wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Me. Which of you does not have a cosmos yet and wants one?...william-james88 wrote:Looking at the facts, I'm not sure a rerelease of Cosmos is warranted, business wise. Sure, it will help some who didn't get it, but looking at the market price (40-50 USD), it's pretty tame for something deemed super rare.
....
Where the actual hell are you seeing 40-50 USD for Cosmos, Will? Aside from a handful of Ireland and UK listings where the obnoxious international shipping effectively makes it more like 70-90?
Just checked sold listings, and several were at the 40-50 USD price. I didn't check the provenance so they may be from the UK.
I think you are looking in the wrong areas, I am looking at US sold listings, cheapest was around $66 shipped, and they seem to be around $75 typically.
Our numbers are not so far off since I wasn't including shipping cost either
I'm a fan of the SIEGE Astrotrain mold myself, so I'd like to get him as well.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:I adore Galaxy Shuttle, as I do like the mold despite some weaknesses with it and he is a novelty in terms of character really.

It's been up on their website for at least a day - but the 'buy now' button, and the 'add to cart' button are both non-functional. My minions have been trying to get one ever since it popped up, so far to no avail. According to the website, at least 200 people are looking at that page at any given moment, and supposedly over 200 people have it in their carts.
Their customer support people say it's out of stock, but it takes their website 24 hours to update, so we're getting error messages when we try to purchase.
So in the end, it's STILL not available. Has anyone else here actually been able to add it to their carts and complete a purchase?
There's a certain skull-faced, death-reviewing user on here who's desperate for a Cosmos.SGMLordMirage wrote:Thanks, not to gloat by any means, i actually found 3, that first one i found for a friend. Per B-Mac: As of right now, Velocitron Hot Rod does not have an official plan for release at this time. It isn't officially canceled, but there is no plan for release.
