I have no interest in the jets, I have the Encore release with proper launchers so those don't interest me any. I passed on the most recent Perceptor because I don't need another Blaster and I really didn't want the funny colored Astrotrain from the other set so I'd be happy with either one getting a reissue, even if it means a plain black and white Astrotrain.

I'm surprised they aren't looking at Takara Tomy reissue they've never done before like the Combaticons, Galvatron (just pretend the gun mode doesn't exist on the packaging), Metroplex, Omega Supreme, or Skylynx. They'd be pricey, but seeing how well the Constructicons sold it should be perfectly fine.

Hey, the Hasbro reissue jets have proper launchers too - they just have longer, bulkier gun missiles and dorky-looking small missiles as a consequence. You want improper launchers, go look at the vintage Hasbro Seekers and their launchers with springs too feeble to launch a straw wrapper (much less their missiles).

I personally would prefer some 1987 to 1989 reissues. As is, the only one here I would really want is Thundercracker

Hm.. On the one hand, those two aren't too hard to come by without being overly painful, plus as Ultra-class they're much larger than the show portrayed them; they have Shockwave syndrome. On the other hand, there's a lot of Optimus Primals out there minus accessories and even the gorilla head and we've yet to have someone fill the void Dark0v left so the likelihood of repro parts to patch them up is low and thus a fresh batch of replacements would probably be appreciated.

I think for scaling purposes it would be good to see a reissue of the Robot Masters versions, since those are fairly thin on the ground. I would also like a reissue of Universe/Henkei Dinobot because he is rarespensive.

As far as these 4 characters down, I'm only interested in them if there's some dramatic change. If they're straight up reissues then, "meh" I can't really be bothered. I've already got these figures in pretty decent condition.

Give me a white & black Astrotrain and I'm there.
Give me a Perceptor with a cartoon accurate head, I'll buy it.
Thundercracker & Skywarp will probably have the painted eyes that reissue Starscream had, but that's not enough--perhaps Thundercracker w/ Buster or Skywarp with a GI Joe. Sure, then I'll buy it.

But if it's just like the original... I've got those. No thanks.

I frankly think all of these should, but I guess I'd mostly want Perceptor. Hope they also release Soundwave as well.

But they are reissues, nonetheless. The point is that they can do whatever they want to do. Perhaps they decide to bring back Dinobots, Mirage, Wheeljack, Cyclonus, Scourge, Kup, Blurr, Springer ... whoever else they feel would be a good potential fit with the current sales climate.

1. JelZe was talking about the scope of the regular reissue line and what it's currently set to, though.
2. Mini-cassettes are probably substantially cheaper and easier to go to the effort of cutting brand-new replacement molds for because of their size and simplicity, plus at this time the Dino Cassettes have the benefit of having the Soundwave's-appearance-in-the-Bumblebee-movie hype train to ride.

Astrotrain has had a few reissues as well.

Let's go with some late G1/G2 stuff. Particularly anything that had gold plastic.

YES, specifically all the Transmetals, with different chrome that doesn't flake!

Especially Megatron with non-GPS plastic, and Rampage because rubber treads don't have the greatest longevity, and I've heard horror stories of his legs cracking too.
(And although BotCon exclusives will surely never get reissues as such, any interest in that last mold might lead to high-quality KOs to replace flaky Shokaracts)

Let's face it, we're all surprised the reissues are continuing when we had all assumed this was a one-and-done thing for the Bumblebee movie. We haven't got a clue what Hasbro is thinking, for all we know there's more coming in 2019.

As far as BW reissues go, there isn't much I want that I don't already have aside from maybe Dinbot and replacements for Grimlock and Magnaboss without the GPS.

Never my intention to pass them off as solid fact, just spotting trends is all, as so far the G1 Vintage Series releases can all be traced to at least one older reissue. That would mean those molds are "on stand-by" and ready for quick use at any given time.
Legout was a surprise, I admit, a special one at that. Reconstructing molds is still not that commonly found, Devastator and Soundwave's cassettes have had parts recast, but Legout took that to the top with the whole figure reconstructed, thanks to the master being found intact.

I'd love to see figures in the line that have never been reissued before as much as the next guy, believe me. But I don't see that really happening in the near future until Hasbro and Walmart feel confident enough after "testing the waters" with some easy releases... tho Hot Rod may put a wrench in that :lol:

Finally, if I'm not mistaken, Platinum Series Trypticon was the only "new" reissue in recent years (we could thank BWII Gigastorm for that), and Piranacon before that (BWII God Neptune), everything else had a basis in either the TRU Commemorative Series, TF Collection, or even Encore.

You're right, I don't have a source. JelZe might, though, we'll see when she weighs in again. However, a source beyond observation is beside the point here. The point is that it was a pronouncement on the current regular Hasbro reissue line, not a pronouncement on reissues as a whole. At least, if I'm interpreting it correctly.

It's not an assumption. I'm the one who found official confirmation about Legout's components being all new molds extrapolated from the original toys' wooden two-ups. Those Dino-Cassette reissues ARE newly-made brand new molds. Legout even has a slightly (but noticeably) different face from the vintage version as a result.
