It doesn't make sense from a business perspective and would possibly be a shelf warmer.
If it's the Ark, it ain't going to be Omega Supreme, it will more then likely be either The Last Autobot as the Ark, Teletraan-1 as a Transformer or an entirely new character that turns into the Ark.

Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.

The character name doesn't necessarily need to be named Omega, the look is enough, they could give it another name, maybe an original one, but we would still know who it is.
And considering an Animated-style Omega is a long time dream for many, and considering the way titans are going/selling in this line, I doubt it would shelfwarm.
Since few rumors turn out to be entirely wrong, this titan will probably be the Last Autobot, but one can still hope they finally give Animated its titan

I don't know. For it to make any real sense it would have to be done in Animated style and that just isn't going to happen in Generations. I feel like too many people would disregard it as being for a young children's line without a proper companion line in stores to go with it.
Where I think this would be more successful is as a HasLab project.

Nah, we've had our Haslab project, and it went poorly.
And you underestimate the hardcore Animated fanbase, as well as its enduring popularity. There's a reason the UK has Animated stuff every year at its TFnation, it's truly well loved.
Besides, remember the thing I said about how kingdom is finally returned to GenerationS, pretty sure as a titan many more people would realize the source and not judge it as for little kids. It's very different to make an Animated Titan compared to making a Cyberverse warrior

The fully funded and currently in-production Unicron figure went poorly?

They had to extend its deadline at the last minute to make sure it would get made since they didn't have enough orders by the time of the first deadline, and they really wanted it to succeed after Cookie Monster failed to meet its own quota (which was partly due to its running at the same time as Unicron). Otherwise, without that extension, Unicron would have failed to meet its own quota, and it nearly did.Wolfman Jake wrote:D-Maximal_Primal wrote:Emerje wrote:D-Maximal_Primal wrote:And considering an Animated-style Omega is a long time dream for many, and considering the way titans are going/selling in this line, I doubt it would shelfwarm.

This.
Just because something succeeds doesn't mean it couldn't go poorly. If it weren't for that 6 week extension, it would not have made it, not even close. And there was so much bungling going on at the same time, with lack of info, lack of world wide shipping, lack of clarify on if pre-orders elsewhere counted, lack of any real incentives to pay that much, etc.
Not to mention TFs are like the 1 thing a Haslab project has involved so far that has such a large unofficial section. That 3P Uni threw all kinds of kinks in, and still got made, and people cancelled orders when it was revealed and then eventually released. That process made our fandom look HORRID, no joke.
So in short and on topic: No more TF Haslab projects, please. They can make a great Animated Omega Supreme Titan if they would choose to finally give us that. They can give us a great Tidal Wave of Titan or Commander size if they choose. FOC Metroplex and Cyberverse Iaconus also fit in.
And you can't say those are "obscure things few would buy" if the titan next year does end up being a Last Autobot styled figure.

What Im trying to say is, since I didnt buy any Beast Wars figures when they were new(besides Transmetal Tarantulas a couple years later). So Kingdom is awesome for me to finally pick up, hopefully, great Generations style Beast Wars figures. I grew up with G1 and fell in love at 6 in 84', but I really liked watching Beast Wars. There are those of us who grew up G1 but also love Beast Wars/BM, and other Transformers stories.

Doesn't this really speak more about how poorly Hasbro botched the crowdfund than the success of Unicron? Hasbro dropped a $500+ figure on us with no notice and little info and only gave the USA one month to figure out how to pay for it. And it was all during the same window MP-44 Optimus Prime was being released. Hasbro was basically expecting fans ordering through them to either choose or drop $1k in a month. That was before realizing how bad of a plan that was and having to extend the deadline to give us more time and add international options. That was a learning experience for HasLab that we all had to suffer through. They clearly weren't ready but it wasn't Unicron's fault. If the results of their Marvel Sentinel is anything to go by they learned their lesson and know how to do it right.
But back to Animated in Generations, no matter how diverse Generations is they still have an unified aesthetic. Even the movies had to be spun off into their own line. I just can't see Hasbro letting Animated style figures mingle with G1 and Beast Wars.

Can't really see that, with all the smooth curves and such ruined by the detailing Generations is known for. It would take a lot of experimenting to find that sweet spot in the middle.

So, how does a third party company practicing blatant intellectual property theft reflect badly on the fans of said intellectual property?

Would still be nice if they would at least try. How can you start finding that sweet spot if you never even try to make a generations version in some form?

It wasn't just that, but it was part of it. From the moment it dropped, there was a very divisive and dismissive attitude, basically "yep backing that" and "what the hell are they thinking; cut the size, price, parts count, etc. in half; shellformer". With the amount of complaints, coupled with those jumping off the wagon for the 3P one, which was shut down because of the jumping ship, and those who stayed off to wait out that figure to return, it made TF fans look like very spoiled children, made us look to use a term I saw in another fandom forum frequently, "pompous".
I will agree with Emerje that it was poor timing too, and harsh growing pains learned from it and Cookie Monster, and Sentinel put those lessons to good use, but the general attitude of the TF fandom was perceived as quite spoiled. No other Haslab project had anywhere near the fandom associated variables that Unicron did. It was honestly horrendously embarrassing.

HasLab product launches are really complicated, and I'm skeptical that the 3P drama was actually that significant in the long run.

So, how does a third party company practicing blatant intellectual property theft reflect badly on the fans of said intellectual property?
That's what I was thinking.
In the meantime, I'd like some more Kingdom leaks. Thanks.

Question I have is, will they reveal Kingdom at Pulsecon. Seems weird to do the reveals via a con that only 2 countries worth of people can access online

Don't see too many alternatives at the moment. Normally we would have seen this at SDCC with maybe a few extra reveals at NYCC, with maybe one or two more if they had planned to do another HasCon. With the new lines usually trickling out in time for Xmas, it's kind of now or never on the reveals for Kingdom. as for the studio series rumors on the other hand, who knows.
