It’s because the figure lost functionality with this Earthmode “upgrade.” The remolded parts also look less on model to the G1 cartoon than the Siege version. They went out of their way to “fix” something that was never broken. All they needed to do was ditch the clear plastic and change some tampographs.

It looks more accurate now though? It has a less bulky spoiler, looks more like a racecar, and the fake robot chest is not showing in altmode. And the shoulder cannon IS included. Making the cannon would be difficult, but mounting it is a matter of just finding something to hold it. You can mount it using an adapter you make yourself, out of whatever you find lying around, it's literally an L shaped strut with a peg on one end and a hole at the other end. If you want to get fancy, you can 3D print one. You don't even have to design it, the internet will be SWARMING with free printables to mount the cannon on his shoulder.

The problem is though, that is a lot of effort to fix something that was never broken. Like people wanting Earth Mode Sideswipe, the Siege one was clearly an earth car wanting to pretend to be a Cybertronian.
It's great that you like it, but bare in mind that some don't and their problems with the mold, aren't imaginary.

Never said it was imaginary, in fact, I suggested a fix for it. I wouldn't suggest a fix for something "imaginary". It's just that it seems like a shame to pass on a figure that improves on the previous one on like five things just because it's worse on one other thing, and one that's very easily fixable at that. You can't change Siege Mirage's transformation scheme and tampos and clear plastic and molding. But you can very easily make a DIY shoulder mount for Kingdom Mirage's cannon.
Here's what I mean about the alt mode:

Since we now know this is a Pulsecon exclusive you don't need a membership except for 'early access'. This should be like the Pit of Judgement.

Looks like I was wrong, grimlocks fake eyes on the chest are unpainted sadly
It's an early sample (he doesn't show the box, so it's not a production run). It's possible that the production run will include the extra paint ops on the faux eyes.
I hope you're right!!
Forget the green faux eyes on Grimlock’s beast mode! I’d rather the production run fix the shoulder cannon snafu with Mirage.

ZeroWolf wrote:Yeah, it wasn't supposed to come off as snotty as that, so I do apologise for that. It was more meant to ask which release we were discussing at the time and nothing other then that. Honestly I can't remember the conversation.
As for Mirage, I don't have a horse in the race as I never bothered to get Mirage in the first place (don't care about G1).

Apology accepted, it can be very easy to misinterpret intentions online and obviously im guilty of just that. Seems like it was just a misunderstanding
As for the release, I was talking about the battle Across Time Maximal Grimlock that comes in the 2 pack with Mirage. I'd appreciate if the final product has the feaux eyes on the chest painted, but if not it's no big deal and I can hopefully fix it with toyhax labels down the line or ill just get over it
As for Mirage, I'm not too attached to the character but I have yet to see a mainline Mirage figure done well imo. Classics had a cool design but wasn't without flaws. Since then all the Mirage figures just seem mediocre. MMC's sphinx is probably one of the better ones I've seen, and this Mirage has a better paintjob than siege but as other fans have pointed out is not without its problems. The shoulder thing at the very least should be an easy fix, but it's unfortunate that's an issue in the first place

Wait...that was Wolfman Jake who replied to you about the eyes on the chest!
For the record, my thoughts on the chest eyes are that you should wait till we have in hand shots of the retail version

Heavy remold of kingdom cheetor if im not mistaken
Rtron wrote:It looks like an extensive remold. He basically only reuses all four of Cheetor's beast mode legs, and consequently his robot mode feet. Everything else looks new.
