I just got the latest( and newest?) issue of the TCC magazine and they had a great picture of BB on the front..His bot mode looks very g1-ish and his alt mode looks animated LoL... Megs doesn't look that bad..I'll pick em both up just for being who they are

Was talking about the vehicle mode. Try reading the entire post not just the first line.

Look at Animated Voyager Megatron from the "other front side" and look at WFC, they look extremely close to me. One's got curves, the other has straight lines is the only BIG difference.
By the way, this has got to be the most commented on topic on here for quite some time, I get a notification every 30 minutes.

Add another one!

I seriously doubt that's Prime's actual toy colour, it's a hand painted prototype and I'm willing to bet my first borne's kidneys that he'll end up having Hasbro's "fantastic" dull light gray plastic.

Oh, but you were not. Not by virtue of what you wrote.
Try typing entire thoughts instead of hoping we can inference things that need to be clearly drawn out.
For instance:
Rial Vestro wrote:You know I don't think it (The Alternate Mode) looks anything at all like Animated Megatron('s Alternate Mode). Animated Megatron despite not being able to tell which end is the front do to the confusion caused by the animation vs. the toy design does actully have a fairly decent shape. Granted it could be better.
The written word, is a savage device.
Anyway, close enough:

Close enough to dismiss the idea that they look nothing at all alike...except what, in shape, color, context, and profile?

Um... it was clearly drawn out.
Rial Vestro wrote:You know I don't think it looks anything at all like Animated Megatron. Animated Megatron despite not being able to tell which end is the front do to the confusion caused by the animation vs. the toy design does actully have a fairly decent shape. Granted it could be better.
WfC Megatron literally just looks like a brick with a cannon attached.
Now Optimus, I'm actully likeing his vehicle mode a little more than when I first saw it.
Megatron... well, I just hope it's horribly misstransformed because there's nothing cool about a flying brick.
All of the parts in bold are clearly descriptions of their vehicle modes and I actully said vehicle mode once. The entire time I was talking about vehicles. Stateing "vehicle mode" over and over again wouldn't make that any more clear, it'd just be redundant.

Now please tell me that you seriously don't need it dumbed down that much to understand it. That looks like a first grader wrote it saying vehicle mode so much.

You could have gone without saying that, no need to be insulting.

When you have conviction, clarity, and reputation to stand on, there's very little that will insult you.
Also, when Weird Al supports your position on an issue, you're guarnteed a win.

I stand by what I said.

Honestly Riel, just give it up, every time you get caught like this you try to blame others, that we aren't reading your posts or somehow we magically read different words than the ones you wrote. For once, please just let it go. It's getting real tiring, real fast.
in other bits...
Is it just me, or does anyone else look at Prime and see an armored PT Cruiser?

doesn't it look like the bottom half of WFC megatron's hand which is maybe two fingers can flip out to make a full hand? then the tread seems to be able to close.

Who the hell is Riel?

BTW my earlier comment wasn't ment to be insulting. In fact it was quite the oppisite as the person I was replying to was doing a fairly good job of insulting his self and I was actully trying to point out that I didn't think he needed things dumbed down for him. Basically saying he's smarter than he's giveing himself credit for.

Agreed

has there been any word as to how these figs will be distributed? be it a brand new toyline or some sort of extension of universe? I'm leaning toward the new toyline.. This has to be one of the most exciting things of this young year.. I mean I loved the ROTF for what it was worth, it gave me something to look foward too when I went to wal marts, targets and TRU's but it's time has come. I'm stoked to see what will be shown at Botcon 2010!

Me like!
Prime reminds me a bit of the Titanium Series War Within figure, especially in vehicle mode.
Megatron a new mold of the Animated figure, only better, IMO.

My vote for the HOF goes to my favorite Transformer, Kup, to the Headmasters (who still need new figures that aren't just the characters without their master components) and to seibertron.com for for being the ultimate TF resource.

Anywho...
It's nice to see an Animated homage. Apparently Animated meant more to the designers than we thought.
A few of them basically said Animated was a labor of love (maybe not in those exact words, but they clearly had a great time), and now that we're seeing homages (and TWFC Megatron just screams Animated, with bits of Classics thrown in.) it brings a smile to my face.
I hope they do a headcount soon, because I'd like to know how many figures we're working with here. It'll give me a head start on getting the money set aside.

You should battle RV, then I can lock a thread! It's been a while since I've got to lock a thread...
(please don't, I'm just being a **** disturber

But in all things serious as they can get on a website about alien robot toys I'm liking the over all look of them and Megatron in both modes is really starting to grow on me.

Agreed. Between this and Lockdown, I like seeing how some of the Animated design influences are becoming a part of the core TF mythos.

Also agreed. Although I'd like to see Oil Slick join the 'commonly homaged crew', just because it'd be easy to repaint into Cy-Kill.

Re: War For Cybertron Optimus Prime and Megatron Toys Revealed!
I may be slightly late on this, whatever.

Why does Megatron look like some 5 year old's shit-scribble composed of a random collection of triangles in robot mode, and the bastard offspring resulting from a threeway between a dinner table, an F-15, and a rake in vehicle mode?
Prime looks pretty solid though, he has a good shot at being the first TF I'll have bought in the last year or so.
