Both figures look great, although I don't see any sign of Megatron's hands, could be Hasbro's pics have him mistransformed, but who knows. I really like that with the toy, they fixed Prime's head size, while the design in both the game and on the toy is awesome, the only thing about the game's model of Prime is that his head's a little to small, and this toy corrects that.

I think Megs look alright, particularly his bot mode. This is assuming he has proper hands, but I'm sure he does.
If he's not mistransformed, I'll eat my hat!
Prime's OK. I think they're probably both solid figures but whether I buy them will depend entirely upon whether the game is any good.

Optimus Prime looks fantastic in both modes. I like the darker colors used for his figure. Megatron's figure I could live without. I'm not impressed. I really dislike the look of his face with this figure.

hhhmmm these look awesome
but the prime for some reason reminds me of classics prime
and i dont really like prime more than megatron
reasons:why does prime always have to turn into some sort of truck i mean cant he turn into something else?
reason i like megatron:he always has a different look to him that doesnt really copy the original i know this one has a similar head but the body is way different prime is just two windows always on his chest always the same damn colors and he always has a simlar head mold
soo prime boring megatron COOL
but still this prime does look awesome better than the movie prime for sure

lol, I wonder why they always have such a hard time transforming figures properly for press photos. Do they get actual 5 year olds to do it or something?
Anyway, Prime looks great, and Megatron's pretty good providing he's mistransformed. I'll probably be getting both. I hope this is a limited toyline and these are indeed deluxes. Or at least, if this is going to be a full line, I hope they're done ROTF by that time.

Don't dumb these down prior to their release. We've supported these toys for years. Let's get some Japanese style paint aps and the proper color schemes on our side of the market (the larger side of the market...)
Erm I think you may be mstaken, the japanese market is about equal to that of the US.
Whilst the overall population is around 128 million in Japan compared to 300 million in america, the percentage of the population that collect toys is much higher in Japan.
In the US its not a socially acceptable past time except within the geek population( which despite becoming more mainstream is still ridiculed some what). While in japan it doesn't hold that stigma and there is a higher percent of adult collectors, hence why in Japan Takara aim at the collector rather than the child, in America its the opposite which is why you dont get the higher quality paint jobs/colours Japan does. Hasbro cares little about the adult market in America and only gives just enough to keep the collector satiated rather than happy.
Also Japan has a higher amount of Transformer product which is exported than US, particularly to Australia and europe as it is often cheaper and quicker to get things from Japan than the US.
As for the Megatron it looks like it has a hing for a hand on the left arm and the hands arent folded out.
Prime and Bumblebee look great.
Lets hope Soundwave turns out as well.

Just to clarify one point you made. The "GEEK" population has pretty much taken over as the coolest group in America. It is now considered to be more attractive to people if you're overly intelligent, bored with the world & always looking to sate your curiosity and boredom in ways that aren't considered social mainstream. In other words, being a geek is quickly becoming the new fad. Makes me sorry I ever become a hyper intelligent contradiction to society.

When they released the first image of Primes's alt mode, I thought it looked terrible. This image looks much better. It still doesn't look great, but better. I think the bot mode is incredible though. To me, that justifies a purchase.
I know he has garnered some hatred already, but I like the look of Megatron so far. I think he is mistransformed in bot mode. It kind of looks like the cannon barrel forms Megs arm. I think that is a cool idea, but they didn't complete the transformation in the image.

Megatron looks even more like the Robotech Hovertank now. I just hope that the shared elbow joint is somehow engineered to avoid a G1 Kickback forearm situation.

prime looks great - absolutely shite gun though (i just got classics deluxe prime and that was bad too)
megs well besides the mistransformation, his alt mode reminds me of the 1st wave decepticon pretenders' alt modes
- again i wonder if hasbro's pub shots are the result of mainly pro photography, pshopping or whether they have someone hand paint them before shooting them

The look pretty good in robot mode. I'm liking them.
But what's the deal with Megatron's nondescript alt modes recently. Since the movie, Megs hasn't had a recognizable alt mode except for Animated leader class Megs. they are all weird looking Cybertronian flying doodads. At least Prime looks like something earth bound. Having wheels and a defined front.
Well hopefully there's a custom gun mode hidden in there somewhere for him. Cause the robot mode looks pretty cool.

Both of these figures look great and very well made, but I'm just not feeling the excitement. It's pretty much just the same charachters we've had stuffed down our throats since 07. I'll probably be buying these though.

Now this is what Transformers are suppose to look like. Thank you hasbro for letting some one with common sense make a new TF continuity. Cant wait for the game and really cant wait for the figures. Cant wait to see Soundwave, there better be a Soundwave figure.
Current TF count: 2042

Holy broad generalization Batman!
You have large misconceptions about the US market and culture and even larger misconceptions about the Japanese market and culture.
Interestingly enough, you’re not from either of those countries.

And since when did you start to know about the Japanese demographic? The amount of Japanese Transformers fans compared to American is pretty low, they're just more hardcore than us. Yes, some people collect Toys, but Transformers is the last thing on their mind. Gundam, Macross, Figmas etc, are way more popular than Transformers.

I'm impressed. I care not that Megs has no hands or whatever, he's a Decepticon Robot, he don't need no stinking hands!!!!
I swear I can't believe I seem to be the only one that notices and is extremely happy that we're getting Cybertronian alt modes with no cockpits for humans!!!!
Sweet.

Is it just me or OP looks like a deluxe?
Those members they resemble a lot like the kind of legs and arms we usualy see in deluxe figures.
On the other hand, Megs looks more like a voyager...
It would be a turn off if Prime was a deluxe but I guess its still to soon to speculate

Son of a gun. Am I the only one who hasn't commented on these yet? Sheesh. I was in class today, but stole a look on Seibertron on my laptop to see what was new, and I have to say, I'm glad I did. Now that I can sit down and comment on these, I have to say, WFC keeps loking better (I have to take back earlier ill comments on it). Now for my verdict:
Optimus Prime- looks neat, but I might pass, because I have too many Primes already (and none of them I can pose in scale to any Megs I have!
), but don't get me wrong it does looks great. I'll get to look at it pesonally when my brother gets it.
Megatron- epic win. if his arms/hands are mistransformed, then I'll consider getting him. It also depends on his size. I'm guessing voyager or leader because it looks big AND I see possibly light-up areas in his chest and cannon. If I do end up getting him, he'll stay in 'bot mode most of the time.

Okay, now I'm impressed.
Optimus:
Looks good in robot mode, vehicle mode is still lacking, and he looks to be rather posable. Aside from the vehicle mode, the other downside I see is that it looks like he's got quite a bit of backpack kibble, perhaps even somewhat shell formed. Not a huge fan of that, honestly.
Though, he does look like a buy.
Megatron:
Aside from his right arm's mistransformation...I LIKE IT. I love how he compacts down for vehicle mode (I've always loved a transformation like that), and his robot mode looks nice, and it seems to fit him just right. I'm very impressed by him. He too, looks to be rather posable.
We've seen Bumblebee's robot mode (impressive), but I'd still like to see his vehicle mode before deciding, but so far, that's three for three that finally won me over. I'll admit, my initial response to them was "UGH." But now? ...winnin' me over.
I'm not sure I'm happy about it being a limited line. On the one hand, great, not as many figures to collect, easier on the wallet, plus since they're a small line, they'll probably receive more attention and better design work. On the other hand, I hate to invest a lot of time and money into these and get all attached to them and then they're just...over with.
We have the Powercore combiners coming, the rest of ROTF, the 3rd TF movie line coming, the rest of Animated, and I'm just not sure I'm going to have enough dough to make it all work.
