- To credit all relevant sources and to avoid copywrite/intellectual property infringement where applicable.
- To check and edit you news posts for any grammar or spelling errors, spell checker is your friend!

- There is such thing as life away from Seibertron.com, you don’t need to post news everyday and you can take breaks. We understand that things come up, but if your going to be away for a extended period of time, please take the time and courtesy to make a thread about your absence.
Rumor Control
As News Crew we handle both news and rumor. Here at SEIBERTRON.com we separate them into to clearly defined sections, the News Section and the Rumors. Here are some guidelines you should consider before posting any news item:
- Be sure you know your source, and if it is reliable. If your news has come straight from Hasbro, Takara or any official body you should be safe to post it as news. Do not take anybody on their word unless you know they can be trusted.
- Check your sources, if you’re not familiar with a source or your news come to you second hand go back and check the original source and see where they got their information from. Not all sites are as careful about posting fact as fiction as ourselves.
- Use common sense to ascertain if something is believable or not. If it seems plausible and you have enough evidence to back it up you will usually be safe posting it.
- If you are ever in doubt of a item you find, don’t be afraid to start a new topic about it in the General Staff Forum. You can get the advice from your fellow News Crew members before you post the rumor or not.
