This is the first in the Canongate Myth series, which re-proposes myths from all over the world in a modern key, written by some of the best international authors.
So far, I have read:
Jeanette Winterson - Weight
Ali Smith - Girl Meets Boy
Philip Pullman - The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ
Margaret Atwood - The Penelopiad
Looking forward to the paperback release of Ragnarok, by AS Byatt!

I've just started A Feast for Crows (The 4th book) last night. Overall, the author has some great ideas and a beautiful fantasy world, but at times he fails to really take advantage of certain situations. Some awkward sentences occasionally as well, not sure how the editors let that pass...

I'm making my second attempt at picking up The Rise of the Governor tonight provided this book store actually bothered to buy a copy.

In a Galaxy Far Far Awry issue 1: Serial Fiction Sideshow now for sale.
Issue 2: Home Sweet Home Invasion also for sale.
Back issue 3: Technophobia coming soon. And you can help!

Currently reading Frank Herbert's Dune. Again, everyone read this book.
Here from the wild dreams come true
Feast like an empress I do
On treasures and tales, never few

I was lucky, and crazy enough to fight through the e-crowds to get one of 3000 only hand signed copies of Aurelian by Aaron Dembski-Bowden from Black Library yesterday! My Horus Heresy collection remains complete!

What recent decision of Hasbro can't the above picture apply to?

How are you liking the series so far, Jester? I ended up buying the first three novels but have yet to read them.
Until now, I never knew how many novels there were in the series. And I don't know if I'd ever be able to manage to read them all. o.0

Thoroughly loving it. The authors have reached a great point currently (about 17 books in) where the heresy is in full swing, and they can take their time exploring small/new/lesser known events. All of these books are a cut above 'normal' Warhammer 40k fiction, with a clear sense of purpose, hope, and mystery, despite the readers already knowing the final outcome.
The first 3 books act like a mini trilogy to kick things off. Do yourself a favor and read the opening line of Horus Rising. That should get you interested!
While there is a lot of books, with plenty more to come, they each have their own stories, and new characters. This keeps the books fresh and exciting. Like for instance, we have yet to really get a book focusing on Jihatai Khan, Konrad Curze, or Sanguinius.

Funny you should mention Konrad and Jighatai. They're my favourite Primarchs from my favourite Space Marine legions. I'd love to know more about them--so, yeah, let's hope one day those books make an appearance.
Once I've finished Nightbringer, I'll give Horus Rising a crack. I've no doubt it'll be a great read.
Cheers for the reply.
