I am about to move into an apartment with my girlfriend and she said that their is not enough room for my collection that has grown to 6.5 cases. She said that I could bring a few but the rest I will have to store at my parents house.

Is there a way out of this situation that wont piss her off and allow me to bring my collection?

Strike a balance. Relationships are compromise. Letting a woman walk all over you isn't the way to keep her.

Of course, most people would argue that cases of toys aren't a way to keep a woman either...

The house I'm going to be moving into this summer with my girl is our house but I bring home the bacon. I want a toy room and there is a toy room.

...of course my girl is super cool with the toy collecting and loves to hunt. Even if that were not the case, I'd still have my toys.

when my lady and i got our house, i told her one thing: you can have the entire house, all i want is the office to do with as i wish. and now all 4 walls are shelved with tf's.
"just give me one room. it's my passion."
that should do it. and mention:
"if you love me you'll help me make room to display them. and clean them before they go up."
are you planning on spending the rest of your life with this one?

Don't move in with her.

Actually it's the key ingredient to keeping a relationship going. Unless she's scared of you. Tell her its your collection and you'll take it where you damn please. Just make sure the doghouse set up first.

I have pretty much the same thing going on with my wife. She lets me have my room for building models and collecting transformers. Now my wife is also incredibly supportive, and not anything like what you normally hear about wives. So hopefully your girlfriend is as understanding as her.

Don't move in with her where she currently lives. If this is a big enough step for the both of you in your lives, get a place together with enough space to satisfy both of you.

all about compromise and that means she has to give some as well. Once you go down the road of what she says goes then you find alot of things missing along the way.

Now don't think that it has to be negative, some can learn to make room for their partners things and vice versa. If she doesn't want to do that then she really isn't ready to move in with someone.

How about the advice. Take your several toys to the apartment for now. You'll have a chance to have more when you get a house or bigger apartment in the future. Maybe slowly bring in a few more at a time.

I'm so happy I'm very far away from marriage & even moving in w/a girl yet. But then again, the girl I'm w/now loves Tf's too, so, ya know...................but for this situation, just call a room, & make her live w/it. If she doesn't like it, too bad.

best way to do it. if she straight wanted you to get rid of them, ide say dump her.

its true comprimises must always be made. but i could never get involved with someone who couldnt love me for who i am. which is a geek and a toy buff.

If a couple can't compromise about everything, the relationship is doomed. If she's telling you this, she's only going to cause you more pain & suffering (and possibly cost you more money) by the time she ends things.

Agreed. Its possible she's put on hold some of the stuff she wants to do too, but is not able to do it because of the apartment space. You will still have the Transformers, keeping them at your parents' house will most likely be temperary.
