Great imagination... poor realism...

well i can see it going a few ways
1: it starts out with optimus telling what happend in the first film and says how long its been since then.

2:(A) starscream is on cybertron telling everyone megs is dead and he is now the leader of the decepticons, they gotta rebbuild a bigger army and take over earth cuz theres still part of the allspark left. (B) and while this happends soundwave(after hearing the news) or maybe some of the surviving decepts on earth(like scorpy) are trying to find megs and bring him back.

3:a combination of all 1 and 2A/B with an awsome comeback reformat of megs with "I STILL FUNCTION!!!!" god i love that line...

if scorpinok is still alive i hope he gets a newer look to him.

I like your first idea...

It should start out like the first one, only starscream narrates about what happened in the first movie, then explains why he left earth.
