Considering the OP was simply asking for people's opinions of what they think is the best Transformer and why they think that way, there isn't any other required criteria for the "best" Transformer for responders to adhere to.

I read your response and I think your analysis of why you choose the MP Seekers, specifically Skywarp, is great and I really enjoyed reading it but it's no more valid an answer in this thread than someone choosing G1 Megatron because they think it's cool or because they have fond memories of the toy and/or character from childhood. If those are the qualities that make their choice the "best" for them, then so be it.

Is there a need to "defend" one's choice? This isn't a debate thread.

I dont want to "hurt anyones feelings", but lets face reality. The object in front of you is a computer. on the computer are websites like this one. I started this topic because I am a transformers fan and have some favorites. I was curious about what everyone else thought. Thats it, no need to argue over a simple question.

P.S. I apologize for anyone who was offended by this because it sounds like I am talking to a 5 year old

I only collect G1, so my knowledge is limited to that line.

As a child my favorites were Grimlock, Soundwave, Sixshot, Shockwave, Ratbat, and Rampage. (sorry, couldn't narrow it down)

As an adult, however, I really can't think of a more bad ass Transformer than Victory Saber. Not many G1 transformers can compete with that kind of awesomeness.

...and BTW, MP Skywarp isn't my favorite TF, it's not even in my top 10. I've got favorites that are utter crap and I'm not biased enough to name them the best.

My personal favorites are the masterpeices. I have one of each mold and I love them all. They, almost perfectly, represent the origional characters.

I have some favorites in other lines as well. Leader class Ultra Magnus from Animated is a great figure. Classic Prime is just awesome. The ROTF Leader Prime is fantastic (he looks just like the movie).

I don't think anyone here can comment on *the best ever* unless you actually own EVERY TRANSFORMER FROM EVERY LINE. If you do, I bow down to you, and will have no problem calling you God. BUT. If the question were to be a bit rephrased to maybe "Best Transformer you ever owned?" then that would be a bit more easier to answer. My answer:

Masterpiece Optimus Prime.

Transformation: Complex, attention-requiring and very involving. It is great. I've had mine for 5 years now, and I only transformed him twice. From robot to truck and back. Otherwise, he's been displayed in robot mode. Which brings me to

Display: Very posable, very detailed, and not over-sized or under-sized. It is perfect, especially with the scale of the Alternators.

Color-scheme, accessories, and overall look is impressive and accurate. Very true to the original character.

Masterpiece Optimus Prime is the best Transformer I have ever owned.

You don't need to own everything to make an intelligent assumption about which toys are shouldn't even be considered. No one in their right mind would say that firecons, flipchangers, clones, crossovers, throttlebots, micromasters, action masters, spychangers, pretenders, mini-cons, titaniums, fast action battlers, RPM's, Attacktix, Robot Heroes, Mighty Muggs, Heroes of Cybertron and the Nike shoeformers even stand a chance.

I'd put my vote with MP Grimlock. THe articulation is excellent, the show accuraccy is unrivaled, the beast mode is sweet, and it's got a glowing Energo-sword!

Runner-ups: RID Scourge, RiD Omega Prime, RiD Megatron, MP Prime and the Seekers (especially Skywarp! THe colors are sick!), Unicron, the Alternator/Binaltech/Alternity's, Beast Wars Magnaboss, Skids/Mudflap Ice Cream Truck, and ROTF EZ-Devastator! They rock!

yes they have cons. but they are still kickass toys. oh, and op isnt on there because he broke, and if a tf is broken, im my mind it isnt a toy until its fixed :sad:

I agree but with one little modification - the Commenative version. The original was great but to be able to carry 2 cassettes - Jackpot!
