I know as a kid i really liked Transformers alot and i loved the combiners too! i had most of the them: constructicons, stunticons, areialbots, technobots and the mighty terrorcons! and for me the Terrorcons was my favorite!! something about mechanized creatures transforming into robots and combining into one giant robot named Abominus!!! and now that i've found all of them and still on hunt for some loose pieces, the Terrorcons will unite again....

Price not withstanding, he's easily one of those TF's you'll never regret buying.

For me, the qualities I look for are: complexity of transformation, articulation, realism of the alt mode/s, durability and features. Taking all of the categories into account, my candidate for the best is the Masterpiece Seekers, specifically, Skywarp (his paint scheme is more impressive than the others). They've got complicated transformations, lots of joints, excellent looking alt mode, no real weak spots, and even has a display stand that can accommodate both modes.
MP-04 Convoy would've been no. 1 if it wasn't suffering from such design flaws like his misaligned chest, weak waist joint and the fact that he's so top heavy that getting him into any kind of dynamic pose will be a challenge.

G1 Optimus Prime. I remember how completely obsessed I was about that toy when I was a kid. It was ridiculous how much I wanted that TF, and when I finally got him for Christmas I didn't set him down. That was by far my favorite x-mas present for MANY years. That figure just has so much going for it. It is cartoon accurate, fun to transform, durable as an anvil, and the trailer is fantastic. It was and still is a great toy all-around.
G1 Hound. I always liked his character, design, everything. He and Prime were always my two favorite characters/toys.

1. Botcon Thundercracker, because all the forum drama was too amusing.
2. Cybertron Backstop, as he is the best at being the worst.
3. Universe Sideswipe, because I like Sideswipe and it was a good toy.
Honestly, there are too many good Transformers for me to call a single one the best. The best overall toy line I could answer, but there too many fun figures out there for one to be the best.

I would say, Masterpiece Optimus Prime/Convoy. There are a few reasons.
First of all, it was my gut answer. I immediately thought of MP OP when I saw this question. Never ignore gut reactions, I say.
Secondly, as a G1 fan, as an Optimus Prime fan, this toy's design is the most accurate depiction of the character in toy form up to date. I don't have MP OP yet so I can't objectively comment on its function as a Transformer figure/toy but I've seen/read numerous videos/reviews/examinations of the figure that all come to the same conclusion that it is a "near perfect" toy of the character.
Thirdly, the toy isn't a "Masterpiece" for no reason. The materials involved in its construction speak of its physical quality. The details such as the Spark chamber, moving parts such as the shock suspension of the tires, speak of the thought that went into the toy design. To call this a toy is almost wrong. I know the stereotypical toy collector in most parodies mention the "It's not a toy! It's an action figure!" line but in this case, it's true. MP OP isn't something that is meant to be played with on a casual basis. It truly is a great display piece that at a glance appears fairly simplistic due to the character design of G1 OP but upon closer inspection, there are layers of detail in its construction and design as a Transformers figure. It's truly "More than meets the eye.".

Weapon: tea cup."
I'm going to say THS-02 cos he's a perfect representation of the screen character with no kibble, loads of accessories and the second most poseable figure ever made. My only gripe is that he wasn't made slightly bigger.

I regret buying him... cause I can't get the thing to workwithout the music he's just an expensive toy made of cheap plastic! If anyone knows a guarateed way of making this thing work, PLEASE do tell, I'm, tired of spending money on cards that don't do nothing but shutting up. He looks cool though

and evil
and kicks ass
And you can get a whole lot more than six altmodes out of him
Speaking from experience, "lower end" mini SD's seem to work a lot better on Soundwave (ie. "third party" cards from lesser known companies). Also, the player only accepts cards of up to 1 gig only. Anything more and it'll start acting all wonky.

Yes!! That might be it! I've always tried 2 gig cards, thinking something was wrong with the quality. I'll try this. Thank you!

G1 Megatron, waited 19 years to get him. My all time favourite Decepticon
G1 Prowl, all time favourite Autobot. Got me back into collecting. Can't believe it's seven years. Nice arm articulation. Great colour scheme. Love that silver rifle. It's Prowl!!!THE TRANSFORMER POLICE CAR
G1 Scorponok, couldn't put him down as a kid. Headmaster, Triple Changer and those claws!
G1 Ultra Magnus
G1 Scourge
G1 Sideswipe
G1 Soundwave
BW Terrorsaur/Hydra/Lazerbeak, I love Basics and there's something about his bot mode
G1 Ironhide with custom head from Ebay, wouldn't touch the tot for 20+ years then got the custom head set for he and Ratchet and I can't put him down.
Acid Storm/Starscream
G2 Laser Rods
G2 Stormtroopers, coolest Decepticon cars ever.
RID Ultra Magnus, could only be better were he repainted as Motormaster. Love the gold eyes
RM Victory Leo, just love his bot mode is in scale with G1 Prowl and co and love the animal mode
Classics Galvatron, that robot mode just oozes character though I'd like to see it in G1 toy Galvatron's colours
Destructicon Scourge, the colours and the eyes
Universe Devestator, closest Devestator scalewise, to the Diaclones. If only he were composed of 6 rather than 4 Constructicons
Energon Rodimus/Checkpoint. a great Rodimus Prime toy and Checkpoint lets me visualise G1 Prowl as a Prime
OK it's a tie between Scorponok, Megatron and Prowl.

someone please!! for the Love of GOD!!! put that funny ass pic up!! I gotta see it again!!
I mean of all the transformers to own, why not one that can offer relief for all the rest of the transformers.. I mean being the only toilet in existence on Cybertron has to account for something doesn't it??
I guess I have to vote for this little guy, I know it is unexpected...
but for those who deal with Shite all day, this guy does it for the entire cybertronian race, and deserves his lime light... LOL
why should he always get the short end of the Shite Stick??

Glad I could help.
Y'know? That's the thing with buying Takara products; the instructions are all written in Japanese
About the "third party" cards, yes, supposedly cheap cards do work better on Soundwave. Mine's a Sandisk (you decide if it's "cheap") and it's compatible so far.
May Soundwave blast your eardrums to oblivion, bro

Nujevad wrote:It seems like some people are putting in their personal favorite figures as "the best," even though by all accounts, they're obsolete and being carried on by nostalgia alone. Please people, at least defend your answers and not just "he's my favorite" or "I've always wanted him."
Considering the OP was simply asking for people's opinions of what they think is the best Transformer and why they think that way, there isn't any other required criteria for the "best" Transformer for responders to adhere to.
I read your response and I think your analysis of why you choose the MP Seekers, specifically Skywarp, is great and I really enjoyed reading it but it's no more valid an answer in this thread than someone choosing G1 Megatron because they think it's cool or because they have fond memories of the toy and/or character from childhood. If those are the qualities that make their choice the "best" for them, then so be it.
Is there a need to "defend" one's choice? This isn't a debate thread.
