IMHO,The secondary prices for Jetfire went down dramtically when they started making all those masterpiece robotech versions based off the jetfire designs. most like the mp versions because their superposeable, highly sculpted & have more weapons/accessories.

anyways all those re-issue robotech toys based off the jetfire design released over & over in the 1990's/2000's also made the hasbro jetfire worth less on the secondary market.

the rare japanese headmasters heads are no longer rare & nor worth that much. because most refuse to pay those high prices anymore due to the KO versions being heavily on the secondary market.

henkei thundercrackers price & rareness went down when hasbro released the much cheaper price & better colored generations/rts version.

the e-hobby minibots (gobots versions) aren't rare, their just super exspensive to buy on the secondary market. if you've got the money their beyond easy to find on the secondary market.

I think the guy who wrote this thread. wanted to know which transformers were rare due to their being few of them out their, thus the high price reflects that.

I honestly don't think this thread is about high priced TF toys that were made in high volume & are still super easy to find on the secondary market.

Leaves me wondering why i passed on a complete G1 scorponok with a half-torn box for ~ 3500 yen when i was in Japan #-o Oh wait... it was because i just bought reissue predaking and that ran me $200... still, should have came back for it. Speaking of predaking, despite all the reissues, (i believe 3 times including G1) the price is slowly climbing up... Sure its only about $150 on ebay... but the demand seems to be rising in the asian market...

I'd rather we got the beastwars neo unicron toy released instead of the 1986 proto type unicron.

1986 unicron isn't poseable nor does it look decent in my book.

at the very least BWNeo Unicron is extremly poseable & looks decent IMO.

It seems like TF Prime would be a decent toy line to release BWNeo unicron in.

irc there were only about 9 lucky draw unicrons made (unicrion of light)
9 or so gold mp primes
but 2 maybe 3 of the original unicrons
not sure if those numbers are close though

either way if they were to go on sale you would find maybe 2 of those 3 on ebay but that hasbro uni would probably go to an established auction house to a private collector if someone did have him. >:oP

Agreed. i actually like the brawny look of BWN unicron. Moreover, unicron is said to make an appearence in TFP and IMO the esthetics just kinda work in a way for me.The whole TFA look also blends with TFP Maybe we can look forward to the release of other TFA molds in TFP? (I want a TFA animated earth mode ironhide)

On deeper thought, I would imagine it to be the original hardcopy of Optimus Prime which goes way before Transformers. I wonder if it still exists...

I think it's so ridiculous and odd that i must own it. Plus it has a campy quality to it. It's a work of art in my opinion.
Unicron doesn't need to be very poseable anyhow. Action poses don't really suit him.

I'm sure the arms on the prototype move. Good enough for me.

But i don't see why we can't have either versions made so we can both be happy to be honest. Get on it Hasbro!

I skimmed the posts real quick and did not see anyone mention Browning. IDK how expensive or coveted he is but he is got to be one of the rarest. I feel fortunate to have a mint diaclone release of this figure, The TF release I saw on Ebay a few years back was getting up around $1500 IIRC and it was opened.

Yes I thought about Browning as well, I would expect him to be pretty high up on the list for sure.

This depends on which Browning figure were referring to.

The only really rare Takara Browning figures are the one made & liscensed by Takara. The masterforce 1988 Browing figure is super rare & super exspensive in MISB Perfect condition. The Original Microman/change Takara liscensed Browning figure is super rare & exspensive in MISB condition.

I Honestly wouldn't rate nor consider the various Bootlegs/KO versions of Browning rare nor valuable. because their not liscensed by takara. some have english & japanese words written on the box. some call the toy microman then proceed to call the toy something else KO a few words later like "Kingdam" or "Robo-man."

Sadly some people who own the KO/Bootleg versions of Robo-man & Kingdam don't do the proper research. and they think they actually own a liscensed Takara TF toy. or for some strange reason they think around 1983 Takara sold some liscensed TF toys to various american retail stores in america under the permission liscensed robo-man & kingdam toy lines. a year or 2 before Takara met hasbro & signed the USA rights to sell transformers toys in america to Hasbro exclusively.

If the majority of the words on your BROWNING toy box & instructions consist of 80%+ english. with a few japanese symbols thrown in. and it says Robo-man or kingdam or? then you've got a KO Unliscensed bootleg version of Browning & not the real liscensed Takara toy.

FWIW,About 10 years ago, their were literally hundreds upon hundreds of Robo-man/kindam Browing auctions all over ebay comming from hong kong sellers. I don't know if their was a huge wharehouse find or something.
But I remember paying $40 for my KO Browning Robo-man/kingdam toy in C-10 mint un-used perfect collectors type graded condition.

I honestly don't consider opened boxes TF toys with thrashed under C-6 toys inside worth anything in my eyes. IMHO,Your no longer buying a collectors item,IMHO,your just buying someone elses thrash.

I'm sorry guys, but I gotta say this. The prototype Unicron is just plain out fugly to me.
I wouldn't take him if it was given to me for free (unless I could sell it)............there I said it. Now I feel better.

I think, for me as a collector, anything I don't have in my collection that I want, I covet.I kind of have an OCD problem with this so from G1 to today, if I want it and don't have it now, I'm kicking myself. Right now, though, I'm dying for a G1 (reissue or original) Prime......
