I really need a place to display that set of figures again. The HoS Seekers were also pieces of art.

If not him, then probably Planet X Genesis. He is absolutely stunning in person.

I think if Quakewave's lower legs had been just a little thinner, he would have been perfect. But as it is, it's out of proportion with the rest of him. It's ironic, as the original G1 Shockwave's lower legs were too thin.

Being in the first wave of 3P combiners I enjoyed everything about it.
I like the figure of course but, at the time, the anticipation of the figure was part of the joy. Not quite knowing what the next character would look like. The Herc vs Giant debate. Getting to display and enjoy the individual figures while waiting for the next ones to arrive.
That charm won't be recaptured for me. Now, with all the options out there, I want to know all about the combiners before I buy. But at the time it was a big part of the thrill.

I share your sentiments, even the ones I didn't bother to quote. Hercules really was the next evolution of 3P releases, even with his flaws. To have lived the experience of announcement up through the entire release timeline was a fun ride.
And he's just so damn beefy!

Had Protector then got rid of it. Think it's a visually nice looking figure. Thought the main negative was the tiny 5 inch deluxe Rodimus toy FP had to work around to create the combined modes
FP, I felt also made a few of their own mistakes with Protector. like having 85% percent of the trailer transform into that attack firing base. doing that 15% weird awkward looking combining parts. selecting such a tiny HasTak figure to use for Protector.
Think the most disappointing thing about Protector is that in combined robot mode it barely stands 6 1/3 inches tall from head to toe.
Really wish a 3rd party would use the Protector idea but take it to the next level. By creating a 7.5 inch voyager Hotrod that combines with Trailer armor to create a 9.5 inch leader scale robot mode.

Quakewave is damn awesome!
While not my favorite all-time 3P figure, he is exceptional.

True I think that of he had been released back then it would be very tempting indeed.
