Skids

-Had no appearances at all in the G1 cartoon, with a single appearance in the Marvel Comics' corresponding run.....I guess nobody had time for the minivan alt mode

-Did not appear again until 2001 in RiD, and then got a single episode (Episode 14) to his name, with no more appearances until an barely there cameo in the last to final episode where all the Autobots were summoned by name for the final battle & yet Skids and Towline(the other never used character of the show) appeared in a single group shot and otherwise disappeared in every other group shot or scene

-Again disappeared until Revenge of The Fallen, where we all know how much hatred the Twins got, warranted or not, and then didn't even appear to die off in the Dark of The Moon.

So, 3 and a half/4 appearances in total since 1985, none of which corresponds with another in the same continuity.

Victory Leo he only appears in the final 5-6 episodes of Victory but after that I can't think of anything he's been in of note.

Second would be Victory Saber/Star Saber at least in the US and not as a name of a sword.

The Predacon Brothers: Dakrscream, Slapper, and Gas Skunk. I know there was a Animated version of Slapper whose bio alluded to Gas Skunk and Darkscream (Thank you Mr. Wyatt), and there were some cameos and mentions in other media (though that could be Stinkbomb in the Regeneration One comic) but other than that they've just up and vanished. Not even as background characters in MTMTE (to my knowledge, I don't own all the issues, so could someone look for them in their spare time?) They'd be perfect choices for RID15 Decepticons, but still no sight of them.

I haven't watched that much G1 lately, but I feel it would be obvious. I'm going to select Roadblock from....(i'm sorry) Energon.

He started out as Inferno at the beginning of the series, pretty bland. They go to space to stop Megatron and his men from reviving Unicron, they do revive him but not enough episodes, let's reuse the plot. Eventually Shockwave (I know he's Shockblast but ShockBLAST? What an awful mish-mash.) escapes from cybertron prison but eventually recaptured by Wing Saber. The team go out while Inferno stands watch of Shockwave. Megatron's team comes to rescue him and captures Inferno. Megatron tries to corrupt him from badass cel shaded scenes but fails. Inferno fights the influence though and it's actually exciting and interesting. He sacrifices himself to save Starscream while infected by the influence and dies. He is resurrected into Roadblock, he should go out with a bang at the end but he does NOTHING, **** NOTHING FOR THE REST OF THE SERIES! :BANG_HEAD:

great job guys, what a way for a character to die and return to a fate worse then death.

Trailbreaker. Outside of IDW of course where he had a personality. In most G1 he was just "That guy with the forcefield" (He himself hated that :lol:

). G1 is literally the only major Trailbreaker and even then the term "major" is debatable. Bay verse appeared once in the PSP game, Animated's forcefield failed at an important point. That's all we know about him. Not even an image, and Aligned is just a toy. A generic, characterless, toy. He has so much potential as a character that's wasted.

I agree. Trailbreaker is my favorite character and the fact that IDW is almost the only one to use him and use him properly makes me sad. He could be much more if he got some more love

He was used a lot in the original two seasons; far more than pretty much every minibot bar Bumblebee...

I'm noticing a lot of these characters mentioned here have had major roles in one story or another actually. Is this just a case of you guys not knowing about it or interpreting 'underused' not as 'a character that should be used and fleshed out more' but instead as 'THEY SHOULD BE IN EVERYTHING'? Because I'm tellin ya, you can very easily get your fix of Trailbreaker, Brawn or Skids in one form of media or another.

Combiner Wars Rook. At least Alpha Bravo and Offroad got "Deadly Aim" and a tiny bit of panel time in the comics. Rook you might not even see (other than as part of Defensor) unless you're good at "Where's Waldo".

Anyone remember Transformers: Mosaic? One page non-canon stories where you could literally bring out any character and write a story about them(and if lucky find an artist to volunteer to draw them). I remember it, and it was a great feeling to see something I wrote be visualized.

There was one character that struck me with inspiration that according to the tfwiki has had next to nothing done with him despite an interesting bio.

That character is Gunrunner:

I've had a few ideas for a while about some fanfic with a ragtag group of late-G1 characters - both Autobots and Decepticons - going on random adventures after they find out the war ends. That's such an appealing concept in modern IDW and I want to see how different characters scattered across the universe - especially with the lack of communication and bases and resources everyone had following AHM and such - would react to this, some joining together with old enemies just to survive. Especially when you do it with characters that in the past we've basically just had short 3-sentence bios of; you essentially start from scratch with a basic idea of who they might.
Funnily enough, Gunrunner was one of the characters I was going to use for that main group...

Lugnut.

From TF: Animated we keep getting Bulkhead. Which is fine. A lot of the Bulkhead toys have been prettty darn good. In fact, AoE Hound Bulkhead seemed to be one the better toys from that line.

But we need more Lugnut, man! The Lugnut Voyager from Reveal the Shield has got to be one of the better toys from the entirety of CHUG, and we didn't even get a repaint/remold.

Plus, it seems a shame that the most loyal Decepticons we get toys for are Soundwave's Audicons Recordicons.

My vote goes to Lugnut! So much potential.
