I don;t think the movie line would be a good MP idea. The MPs in existance already are characters that are tried and true, and have stood the test over the many years of TF fandom. MP are supposed to be of iconic figures, and while Bonecrusher et al were pretty cool, they are far from iconic. Even the MPs G1 representations are iconic: movie Prime is not an iconic TF figure, his namesake is. Without getting into the continuities debate, OP is iconic in his semi w/trailer G1 form. Megatrons' whatever it is alt mode from the movie is not his iconic appearance, it is as a handgun. The only movie MP I could see them doing is Bumblebee, because an MP mold of the G1 VW Beetle would be a waste of a mold.

I do like the Coneheads idea. MP Thrust would be cool. But is he iconic???? :D

Soundwave would be iconic. But would you want an 80's boombox with cassette tapes to bring along?

Well, yeah. Boombox Soundwave is the original and iconic representation of Soundwave. Which Soundwave would be more iconic? The Beast Wars mutant? That missile tank thing that was Universe Soundwave? A CD player? Soundwave wasn't a CD player, he was a tape player. 'Fore I'm accused of living in the past, Megatron could have just as easily been a different handgun in his MP incarnation, but why still the P-38? That's an outdated firearm style, but it's Megs' iconic alt mode.

Sounds good. A real Masterpiece Soundwave that can play real music. Provided with 3 robot-cassettes, in the same size as an ordinary cassettes. You can even play your antique collection of real cassettes!

The Alt / KP version of Hot Rod is enough to satisfy my need for a complex Rodimus. If only they gave him a Matrix cavity ...

Galvatron would be nice.

Grimlock's another that can be done well. He's one of those guys you'd have trouble deciding on how to display if done right: alt or robot mode.

A tape playing soundwave WOULD be nice ...

I see Magnus as being too expensive to buy if he came complete.

And I definetly wouldnt be against a MP Rodimus, I agree the flames are tempting. I really enjoyed the flames on both the KISS and ALT Rodimus figures.

Welcome back!

I too would enjoy an MP Hot Rod since he's my favorite character. They'd have to give him his proper alt mode though, which throws realism out the window. But I don't care!

Him or Jetfire, because I've always loved Jetfire too...and my girlfriend is buying me the G1 figure for my birthday. :D

Agreed.

As far as Im concerend, MP is a G1 line.

1.) MP Cyclonus (G1)

Agreed!

Air Commander Starscream wrote:2.) MP Hound or Swindle

Hound has been done rather well in the BT/Alt lines, no real need for him.
Id love the idea of an MP Swindle, but unless he comes with the rest of the combaticons, he isnt really Swindle.

If you dont mind me asking, why 'either/or'? Apart from superficly being similer vehicals, they dont really have anything in commen.

Air Commander Starscream wrote:3.) MP Thrust

OH
YES

Especilly with anybody who isnt American and/or bloody rich being robbed of the chance to get a classics one.

Id love to see an MP Galvs and (if done well) MP Rodimus Prime.

Infact I'd love to see the future of the line (in the short term at least) doing verious other G1 leaders (we may have only really had 4 main ones (and a few asorted comic decepticon leaders) but the Japanese had some seriously badass looking leaders in their later serieses that would rock as MPs.

If they did him. He's got to come in pairs. So that one can ride over the other.

Wreckgar would have a rather simplistic tranformation. I can't see the necessity of small bits to move about.

Yeah. His robot mode will be too small compared to other MPs. But his alt mode will be a gigantic monster bike compared to Prime.

Well, if reasoning serves me correctly, I would think the Masterpiece line was to make a Transformers look more like their original selves and not like boxy or goofy toys.

Trypticon and Metroplex are great ideas, even Shockwave, but they pretty much resemble themselves in toy mode just as much as cartoon.

For a MP I'd definately say complete Ultra Magnus, make the transformable trailer to make him the UM everyone knows and loves and not just Prime repaint.

Then of course, Ironhide. he's as much Primes right hand man as Starscream to Megs.

Heck yeah Ironhide. Why not? He's as much a figurehead of Transformers as Starscream, and SS got MP treatment.

So what his alt mode is a van, its the point of him being Ironhide.

It's too bad Takara never painted the Binaltech Skids mold red as Ironhide. The heads look very similar and so do the body.

Iron Hide and Ratchet are long overdue for a G1 inspired release. A MP of both would make the long wait worth it.
