Which packaging do you prefer? TFC Reissue Line or Encore?

Now that the Encore Line is well established and we have some great figures chosen to be reissued like Omega Supreme and Metroplex I can ask the following question:

Which packaging do you prefer? TFC Reissue Line or Encore? TFC which spanned #00 Optimus Prime - #21 Blaster had some great Dreamwave artwork, but the Encore line is using the original G1 artwork which I grew up with and loved. As a G1 purist collector I am on the Encore artwork side myself.

What does the rest of the community think?

Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!

I like the TFC. It's different.

Encore, although they are blasting out some great bots, are package wise giving just more of the same old, even though they seem to be updating the figures :D

The TFC boxes though just kinda gave everything a brand new feel, and let you know you where buying a collectable, and not a reissue.

Still, I love the Encore line doing the larger bots thought! It's a nice sequil to TFC :D

I like your points on the question. I am torn between the two now. I did like the collector cards that came with the TFC line that I forgot about. Hmmmmmmm...

In the end I am thankful for having the Encore line for my G1 fix.

Yeah, I like the figs as well. It beats paying for a potentaly broken incomplete vintage version. But to be honest, I don't have anything from either line. TFC came out during the TRU Comemorative Series, so picked those up for real cheap once clearance rolled around. As for the Encore larger bots, excluding Sky Lynks who I only have one of, I have a boxed and loose version of the figured being offered.

I wish TRU picked up the packaging idea though that TFC had as realy it does rock!

With TFC still readily availible, I think unless a figure gets a bump like Ratchet and IronHide did in the move, most of the Autobot Cars will elude Encore.

Still the TRU packaging seems to compliment the Encore boxes very well.

Yeah the TRU boxes were nice too. Especially Optimus and Ultra Magnus. G1 goodness at its best.

Amen!!!

I wish a regular retailer would import some of the Encore figs though. The larger bots being offered would make a killing for Hasbro with so many past fans spending cause of nostalgia alone. Gotta ride that wave before it crashes and all.

Realy, Hasbro is stupid for not taking advantage of that, Encore, Sprots Label, Music Label, even Robot Masters, would have flew off the shelves!

This is a tough call. The Encore packaging is very, vergy G1 chic, while the TFC packaging was cool and different, and offered a lot more in terms of the art and the pages with information that I can't read because it's in Japanese. I think I like the TFC the best, but I do like the Encore/eHobby packaging. The TRU reissue packages split the difference, really.

I prefer the Encore style of packaging, just the red/black autobot and purple/black decepticon colour schemes look better than the plain white boxes of the TFC line.

I like the artwork on the TFC boxes but seeing as i mix my reissues together in my display, the encore box colour schemes go well with the hasbro reissues. the few white TFC boxes i have kinda stick out but how else am i gonna get soundblaster and sideswipe right?
