So, i have the opportunity to buy Beast Machines air attack Optimus Primal for around $50 however, I have another opportunity to buy Unicron for $35. What I was hoping was to find out what the transformers community thinks of these two toys and which is a better buy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

My thought is that air attack primal has so many cool gimmicks, and is pretty big so he wouldn't be a bad purchase. But Unicron for $35 is a pretty good deal.

Unicron, whatever version it is - Energon/Armada - is one of the best figures to be made in 25 years of Transformers History. Air Attack Optimus Primal... well let's just say Beast Machines wasn't the greatest toy line. While AAOP is considerably better than all other BM figures... I just don't think it's a better choice over Unicron.

alright sounds like ill be getting Unicron lol. I guess I just have a soft spot for beast wars/ machines having grown up on them. Btw while I'm at it have a MIB OP transmetal should I open it and succumb to my urge to transform it or would that be a dumb thing to do. I'm not sure how much he is wanted nowadays.

It really depends on how you value the figure to be in the box.... Once you open it the value goes downhill from there. If you plan on reselling it in the future, than don't open it. If you see that you'll be keeping it in the future, heck, than open it this minute. Toys were built to be played with. I really don't know how you waited this long. I think I opened it the moment I got it 10-11 years ago.

I am a huge campaigner towards opening toys with these two arguments:
1) watch Toy Story 2
2) would you like to have spent your whole life trapped in your mother's womb?
However, TM Primal is not a good figure. A hairy robot that changes into a metallic ape that looks like his legs have been amputated at the knee? What is this? The transformation is little more than switching his head and hands. So normally I'd say "free him!" but in this case I don't think he's worth the effort

Okay, I am going to get lambasted for this I am sure. I feel like I am one of the few that actually appreciated Beast Machines. That being said, AAOP is probably the best representation of any figure in the line. This is not slighting Unicron in any way.
For me, it would be a tough call, but in the end I gotta' agree with Blurzz. If you can get Primal later on do it though, it is a great figure if you like the aesthetic.

Even though I have a weak spot for Primal these days and that one in Particular. I'd have to say Unicron is the better buy. Not only is he very very large but he's actually very cool. Poseable, and has very cool gimmicks that don't actually hinder him. Its also one of those Iconic TF's you need to have.
And at 35 bucks its a steal. Get him, go, wait no longer, surrender to the Evil master.

I'd personally go with the unicron for two reasons
1.35 is an awsome price for a cool character like unicron
2.I very dislike beastmachines, and would never pay 50 bucks for any characters from that series.
but thats just me.
p.s. isnt that the optimus with the monkey butt behind his head
Watch my toy reviews on Youtube! My Youtube account is fowlowl26!TF wishlist: Universe Ironhide, Classics Hotrod, G1 Megatron, G1 Starscream, and the main Beast Wars characters.

I think his monkey butt gives him character!

The most anatomically correct TF!
Seriously, though...I just got AA Optimus Primal Monday, and I think his alt mode is the sickest of them all. I'm absolutely blown away by it! Plus, he's friggin' huge!

Sorry, I must have been having a blonde moment. I don't know why I was talking about TM Primal
