For the simple fact, there's plenty of other TF related material to keep me entertained.

I believe most of the new TF related materials were reignited by the movies. So both things are connected.

Yeah? And what, we're going to ignore the 20+ years that came before the movies?
Like I said, plenty of other TF related material to keep me entertained.

Who Else Is Going to MISS the Movieverse in Two Years?
SlyTF1 wrote:I'm already sad that its over. I am also sad that people bash the movie so much until there is nothing left. And in this case, thats litterally what happened. I bet Bay got tired of this ****. I know I would.

You know this how?
Honestly, I probably won't miss the movies, and not because I think they're blasphemy (which I DON'T) but because 1) if I do get sentimental, I'll just pop in the DVDs and watch them again and 2) given a good ending, it will be satisfying to see a new story with a good beginning and a great ending (and as the saying goes, with those, a LOT is forgiven in between.)
I didn't get hooked on the toys, (except for the Primes, Megatrons, Bludgeon and the ice cream truck) never read any of the comics, I do have the books by Alan Dean Foster (and plan on getting the new ones if he writes them) but I enjoyed the movies, especially the first one. RoTF, I liked for the action and visuals, and hopefully TF3D will just blow us away.
In the end, I go back to my original question: how do you know it's the absolute last one? What if Spielberg decides to be like his buddy Lucas and make 3 more in 15 years? Maybe even with Bay? Never say never. Personally, as long as those no-talent douchebags Orci and Kurtzman aren't attached, I'd like to see Paramount and Bay keep churning them out. (Yes, I know Bay said he was done.)
I like the movies and the movieverse for what it is, but I won't get bummed out if there won't be any more. I'll read the G1 comics again.

Who said we were ignoring the history? Don't take words out of context. We will miss the movies the same way we miss G1 or any other that may take a special place in the memories of each fan. We will still move on and be captivated by the innovation (at least a few of us may) of the unknown future, but you can't help but think back a little.

I think you took my words out of context.
Albershide said most of the new TF related materials were reignited by the movies, fair enough, i'm not arguing that. I don't see why it's connected though.
I have twenty plus years of TF stories to keep me entertained, this is why I won't miss the movies because I have plenty of other stuff to watch and read.

I think at the same time some of us can't help but think back to what was from time to time. That's why we have the classic lines; to bring back the fond memories of the past, while we still get brand-new innovative lines. You see what I'm getting at Burn?

I understood perfectly what you were saying. Again, go back and read what I was saying.
I'm not going to miss it because I do have all those fond memories of the past to look back on. I'm not going to miss it because it means something else will come along.
Get it yet?
Prime Riblet wrote:There's a part of me that will miss the movieverse and a part of me that won't. I will most definitely miss the movies themselves and the CGI involved. Some of the things put on film has been amazing, and I don't think there is any way to get around that. I'm not talking about the story so much as the actual images that we have been able to see. Seeing Optimus transform for the first time in the 07 movie was fantastic, and that scene alone helped to get me back into the hobby. If it weren't for the movies, I wouldn't have likely gotten back that child-like sense of wonder that I had all but forgotten about.
As far as the toys, I am glad that I got into collecting the movie line simply because it made me realize 1) how much I love TFs, and 2) what I do and don't like about certain lines. The movie line was what opened the door for me to start collecting again, and now I have a much better understanding of what I want as a person buying these figures. If I hadn't gotten my hands on 07 BB, Barricade, Optimus, and Brawl I don't know if my interest would have been rekindled. It opened me up to find out what I had missed during the years that I paid no attention to TFs and toys in general. Now I know about all these things and get to learn so much interesting stuff about these charaters that I totally missed.....for like 15 years.
So, yes, there will be a lot that I miss about the movieverse and I really don't want to see it go. At the same time, I can't say I am really concerned because there is such a huge pile of information that I am catching up on that I don't think I will have time to worry about whether or not the movieverse is even there.
