Accidentally.

I know they made the sonic arcade game. I'm talking about the games they make for consoles. their arcade games are fantastic.

Eh? DMC3 blew DMC1 out of the water. Substantially improved gameplay, and a better emphasis on story and characters. And unlike Bayonetta, DMC doesn't sell copies based on hyping the sexuality of it's main character.

I've spent much of the last week playing the God of War series, so I really, really can't agree with that.
EDIT: Keep in mind, "Action Game" is a very broad term. I know you mean Hack-And-Slash, games like God of War and DMC, but Action Games can refer to a loooot of different subgenres.

Im sorry other then the boss fights I found the GOW series especially pt 3 a mindless button masher and again PT3 was overall forgettable, but that's just my opinion.

I seem to recall Bayonetta having a mode that turns into entire game into one extended "Press X to not Die" segment...

You do know there's things in God of War that aren't fighting, right? Lots of puzzle solving. And I never cared that it was so mindless because it just looks so damn cool. Why hit a hundred buttons with perfect timing, when I can just hit triangle three times and see a torrent of godly flame spring from my arms and slaughter most if not all of the literally Godforsaken mooks in front of me?
EDIT: I should have mentioned, it stops being that simple about 20 minutes in.

Again that's why I finished my 1st Post With "In my honest opinion" I found the puzzle simple and inane.

Which puzzle? Because there's a lot of them. And they aren't all that simple.
