You know, I was "flaming" pissed (couldn't help myself) when I heard it too, then I went out driving and looked around. Know what I saw? Every other big semi truck these days, regardless of color scheme, has some kind of flame detailing on it. No joke, hard to find many without the flames these days, least 'round these parts. I guess Optimus is just that cool. It's how he rolls dude.

Micheal Bay's Google interview answer to this :

(Paraphrasing) "Why do you buy a yellow house; a green house? I put Flames on Prime because I wanted flames on Prime..."

Now when he released the intial concept for this he was bombarded with hate-mail and death-threats from thousands upon thousands of fans...Micheal Bay (which is well documented) is the type of fellow that when he is objected absolutley plows over the disagreeing side and fuels his passion to do it his way even more (much documentation in magazine interviews of his own words on how "No body controls Mike Bay or tells me what to do!") SO basially he did what Mike Bay does, take hatred for him and use it as fuel...

@Unicron's Head- Other than at demolition derby's or Cars shows I can't ever recall seeing a semi with flames on the highway, and I commute from New Orleans to Baton Rouge a whole lot (which is a common route for most semi's transporting along the southern belt...

Ugh...

I think I just lost all enthusiasm to post on these forums any more.
Prime is perfectly fine with flames. In fact I barely noticed them. I'm off to see the film for the 3rd time this coming Monday, because I think it's amazing and it's my number 1 film of 2007, and I've seen 70 films this year so far.
It's not worth my time checking the forums and finding the same arguements being recycled again and again.
